I mean is simply adding pitching enough? They haven't added a ton as far as quality pitching. They added Sonny Gray, who will likely be their #1 and he had a couple of stints on the IL last year too. I'm all about them adding quality, not simply adding pitching. I'm certainly not for them signing a guy for 80m (up to 100m) that has proven back issues.

He didn't want to stay too badly because the money (no judgment here) outweighed his desire to play here so he opted out of his last 2 years. The Reds did extend an offer, he turned it down. Was a formality of an offer, sure, but still an offer. If the Reds would have been paying him the 20 million he made last year you would have griped about the down year, 13 homers and .263 average just like everyone has about Votto all these years.

They were. With a season opening loss to a state runner up NCC team, a Conner team with one of the better rosters they’ve ever had, a really good Boone Co. team, and they had a pretty bad loss to Ryle. I followed that SK team closely. Had family on that team. They had one of the best QB’s in school history, an SEC caliber player at RB, a lineman that went to Ball State and actually played as well as one of the best LB groups in the state. Let’s not pretend that 08 team and this team are remotely the same. However, even that year they went to the state final (huge accomplishment) and lost 48-0 in a running clock situation to the clear favorite. 6A wasn’t “wide open” that year either.

I may be blind but I miss a face mask in the video too. After watching from that angle, I definitely see how the officials make that call. True relay review may overturn it but from what I see it seems right to me.

I remember SK peeps (maybe not you, I don’t remember) defending the football players favoring the Neers in open enrollment in Kenton Co essentially stating that people just want to win so talent recruits itself. I’d imagine that works in coaching as well. I’d want to work for EE too. Rings look good on my finger.
