You have a strong misconception of how many coaches are truly fired, especially for on field performance.

I agree with this 100%. It’s the biggest missing piece. If you look at Young’s stats, he’s actually got inverted splits so he’s better against righties than lefties. Its not going to bring you back an absolutely dominant lefty reliever, but I’d like to see them package Casali and then one or two is Senzel, Newman or Barerro (prefer to keep Senzel in this instance) for a middle grade lefty reliever a team needs off the payroll. Casali is hitting .162 but a team close to contention with awful defense at the catchers position would trade for him. Then I believe the ultimate goal is to end up with Williamson in the bullpen in the place of a Fernando Cruz or equivalent. That puts you to 2-3 lefties in the pen and opens up a spot to add CES to the roster.

Heck, that’s a never ending rabbit hole. I wish they were undefeated in their 7 games against them this year and up by 7 or 8 games.

That’s far from an apples to apple comparison.

I prefer the NFL’s method of division games to close out the year. I know there’s much less chance in those games determining much after 162 games rather than 17, but at least there’s a chance. If you’re going to have a run of 6 games against a common divisional foe, do it then.

Agree! I was talking to family about this the other day. Lots of weird quirks. Travel is well advanced now, but why did they go to Baltimore, fly home for 3 days and then fly back to Washington DC? None of it makes sense.

Agree completely. Go 3 and 3 or better and you’re in a great spot. Just don’t blow it!

I think this speaks to how tough it is to have an extended winning streak in the MLB. A lot of luck goes into it as well.

I’d agree. All depends on what they do at the deadline. Rumors of them considering selling recently and MLB channel questioning Counsel being on the hot seat.

I think that this will depend a lot on the Cubs of all teams. I’ve seen reports recently predicting the Brewers to be sellers at the deadline and gear for an all in attempt next year. The Pirates played way above their level early and are plummeting back to earth. The Cardinals are awful.

I know exactly what you mean, but I don’t think that was last year. MLB made an agreement to fix this a while back. I used to have the same issue but used the app to listen to games while grass cutting last year.

It was just in March that Marty Brennaman called this team awful and said it would take a divine intervention to compete for the division. In his defense, we all thought the same.

If we are going to the point of changing districts because teams aren’t very competitive in it we’re going to be changing a lot.
