Unfortunately some of those cupcakes use those games and payouts to keep their programs afloat.

If I remember correctly when Coastal Carolina was admitted to the Sun Belt it came down to them or EKU. I believe CCU's current president had ties to Eastern, possibly as president. CCU has sold out the first two home football games, baseball is big time, but as I tell my wife when we go to basketball games I was used to coaching HS boys and girls games with crowds to match them. Sad thing is Sun Belt basketball is pretty good.

Had a VaTech alumnus who has been a long time supporter tell me Michael Vick is being mentioned. The comment was "he's coaching at some little old place (Norfolk State), but I don't know about that one" lol.

A student?.....who you calling a student lol? Saw a guy in the Syracuse game that is in his EIGHTH YEAR of football!! That's enough time for an MD or PhD. I've been wondering how these people don't lose credit hours when changing schools.

Clemson is struggling and Syracuse really looked good to me. Down here in SC the Tiger unfaithful are in a snit. Klubnik has been a major disappointment and the receivers can't seem to get separation. The Tigers don't seem to have a good TE as in previous seasons to make those tough drive sustaining catches.

AAU inspired as well as giving an even greater advantage to more talented teams. More people, more $$$$s. Some schools will struggle to find operators unless they begin training them in lower level games.

Coaches are usually asked in the pregame conference if they are going to be doing anything unusual that they should be aware of happening. Never heard a coach tell an official that at any other time.

So you are suggesting we go back to doing many of the things we did years ago? The promotion/relegation concept has never been done, but many schools played "up" supposedly because of travel. You probably need to address what to do with "home school" students too. I don't know how that 2 schools forming one team would work. As I understand the football coaches were the ones pushing 6 classes. Might be wrong.

Officiated the '85 and '86 games. Two of the best games I had the pleasure of working. Beechwood dropped a TD pass right in front of me in 85 OT. The '86 game was one of the hardest hitting games I ever worked.
