Nothing at all. But, they still value academics and personal growth above athletics most of the time.......but in today's world you never know!

This is really a fun group to watch. The last two Saturdays have shown exactly what impact the Portal and NIL have had on college football.

Deuce Bailey is putting up nice numbers as a red shirt freshman at Coastal Carolina. The team is struggling with a new staff and a ton of new players. Hope he stays, but he's been on TV a couple times and played good at WVU. In today's football we may see a Uhaul in Conway this spring.

Had dinner with the Commissioner at Pompilios one evening many moons ago. I suggested that if we have 220 teams we have 110 classes. My logic was if that was the case everyone would be either a state champion or runner up! Fans would be happy, nice trophies, and a ton of t shirt sales. He chuckled and said he didn't think that idea would gain much traction lol.

GRC gets another dose of reality this week.

Common sense. Aggressive would be three classes, district champions only lol

Four classes, top two teams go to playoffs.

When I got a Franklin football for Christmas at about 8 years old for Christmas it was the best. I had killed my Hutch earlier in the fall lol. Have a great game day football use from the State Finals, the first year Wilson was the mandated ball. Previous game had used a Rawlings and a Spalding. I was instructed in rather explicit language that the commissioner didn't care what happened but there had better be a Wilson football in use for every play of the game lol.

A whole bunch to not many. Running clock.

So you agree that four classes are more than enough and only the top two teams come out of a district? Ahh....the good old days!

I believe that multiplier had to be agreed to by vote of the Board of Control. It would be interesting to know how that vote tallied.

I always laugh at these posts. Eviston has proved that he is a very good coach. They play a good schedule that will probably be easier when they get bumped up to 5A. I think they would be hard pressed to find a coach that's a better fit than him.

Yep........you are REALLY bored lol. Enjoy the game!!

Hate picking against Chief, but the Cardinals are just too strong.

A whole bunch......to not many, if any. Could be a running clock in the first or mid second quarter.

Tell us how you really feel Watusi lol. I officiated the Pike County Bowl a couple times but those two never hooked up. The assigner brought us in from NKY as requested by participating teams lol.

There's a team in Highland Heights? Lived in this area 70+ years, taught, coached, and officiated, and never have been to a high school in HH......Dale Elementary closed many years ago and I don't see NKU playing football.

When my son was a freshman at Highlands in 1986 people said that about that group. 1989 state champions. Defeated Paducah Tilghman 7-3, avenging a 28-27 loss at Henderson County Bowl. Kids grow, improve, and mature.

Will CAL have to use the new "multiplier" for classification? Will they still be 3A or move up??

I would say get him out of there. I would imagine his old teammates won't be thrilled to see him.

I was wearing black Spotbilt shoes to officiate. Worked on turf or grass.

And Brooks ripple sole black shoes!

I would imagine that if a player were to be severely injured doing one of these drills that the catastrophic injury insurance may not kick in. As a coach I would think you would have to re-think using those drills.

We have about 220 schools in 6 classes. I don't think there are eight teams so superior to others that they would do that. Trinity, X, Male, Manual, Boyle, maybe Owensboro, South Warren and?????

I figured this could be a distinct possibility when I read that Coach Volker was going to teach in Ohio. I've always felt that Beechwood has had outstanding coaches and play a good early season schedule. This is definitely not a knock on their success, but they usually are not tested until the state semifinals. I have always had a great deal of respect for Coach Rash but what he did last year for the kids at Conner was above and beyond any championship he had won. Not only is he an HOF coach, he's an HOF man!! Keep it rolling Noel!!!
