The Birds travel to Claryville to face their County folk

Kickoff: 7:30pm (new time)

Highlands (1-1), last week Beat Cooper 45-6

Last week: Birds took care of business against Cooper making it a running clock halfway thru the 2nd quarter. Armstrong still continues to grow showing so much potential and promise in his young career behind center. I love the mobility that he is showcasing jumping out of the pocket to make things happen. Kremer looked strong and powerful running thru the OLine holes. It was really nice to see Tayden get himself a pick 6!l

What to look forward to against Campbell County: Hopefully a whole lot of the same thing we saw against Cooper. I think with Campbell County riding a 2-0 record to start the season, they will be all juiced up to finally be able to make this game a little closer and more competitive than the prior 5 tries when the winning margin has been over 31 points.

Campbell County (2-0), last week Beat Southwestern 47-14

Last week: Not a lot out of the thread between the Camels against Southwestern except some scoreboard updates, looked like Campbell County took charge early and didn't let up. Campbell County has to be feeling really good about themselves after 2 weeks of regular season.

What to look forward to against the Birds: Coach Honaker has these Camels playing well to start off his tenure at Campbell County, beating Scott & Southwestern. Will he run into a brick wall like the Camels did the last 5 tries against the Birds or will this be a ballgame?

Last year Highlands aired it out with Rio Litmer passing for 312 yards with 2 TDs, Bryce Armstrong was able to get his feet wet as a freshman in this game and slung the ball 7 times with 4 completions for 64 yards and a TD, he also ran the ball in for another TD this night. There was a pretty even load of rushers with the collective yards rushed being 183, and 5 TDs.

Frank "Nostradamus' Nicodemus prediction: Looking for a fun semi close game until halftime, then the Birds putting their claws into the Camels and flying home with a comfortable victory 48-17.

I get that you're hurt by the lack of kneeling feeling that it's a poor sportsmanship move. I've been around sports long enough that some kneel some don't. To @theguru point I've heard coaches tell

That's a Freshman's first varsity TD and got a bit excited. Let him have it.

  • You put Armstrong on the bench and protect him for what will be a long, tough season if the Birds figure in the end.

the first two games on the camels schedule don't really show anything.

They played Scott Co. in a scrimmage and lost pretty soundly and that was with 2 of the top players for Scott Co. sitting out.

Highlands had a hiccup week 1 but they'll be more than ready to stomp Campbell county.

Highlands 48

Camels 7

Armstrong gets to beat up on some old teammates. Woodlawn's favorite athlete gets 4 passing and two rushing.

I expect the Camels to give it everything they got. Coach Honaker will have them very prepared. Things are starting to turn in Claryville.

I don't disagree with you but I still expect a Highlands running clock win.

Highlands with the running clock. I expect to see the Birds JV guys get some action in this one.

OK, can we play a "If you were coach this Friday what would you do with Bryce if we get to a running clock scenario?”

Last week the Birds got to a running clock in the 2nd Quarter and Armstrong stayed in the rest of the game getting his snaps in and at some times ran the ball, which I think @theguru stated, "what are you all doing having him run the ball in a running clock game'

With Boyle County coming to town in a very highly anticipated 4A showdown next week, again "if' we get to a running clock situation, with Boyle on deck, do you shut Armstrong down and thank him for his service on Friday once we get to a running clock, OR b/c he's just a Sophomore do you opt to keep building up his snaps, ignore the score and get as many live competition plays under his belt to have that game time feel for when Boyle comes up next week.

Again, totally hypothetical if this scenario occurs with a running clock, which I am saying may or may not happen but if it does, What would you do?

He's a sophomore with limited Varsity game experience, so I'm not surprised he played as much as he did. I would play him as well just to get the experience. I believe his main backups are a senior WR and a freshman? So, there's that also.

Can someone please post the livestream link for this game?

Here is the HUDL link but I don't know that it will be active:

Highlands vs. Campbell County HUDL Link

I haven't seen the FT Film and Broadcast Link yet but that should appear here if there is a broadcast:

https://www.youtube.com/@HHSFilmAndBroadcast

With this game at Campbell County I doubt the HHS Film YouTube broadcast would take there show on the road, so I would assume the Campbell County HUDL link will be the only show in town in Claryville.

Good catch Frank, I was thinking the game was at HHS, duh, and everyone, here is the Campbell County HUDL Link:

Those that want to sit Armstrong, what do you do for a QB? Remember that there are quarter limitations.

If it is a running clock I am sure Coach Sphire can figure it out.
