I have absolutely heard everything now. Next thing we now Mason County will be spiking the water that is supplied to other teams.

Hammonds has never been in a situation where he has had the material to win a big game or been in a region or district championship. Has been the underdog everytime.

The one I am speaking of Wells has not TALKED to yet but has sent some info to make him aware that Pikeville is interested.

I know that he has expressed some interest in at least one more 10th region player, but we will have to wait and see how it pans out. :thumb:

The Principals met today and approved this format 17-0.

They were held during the Christmas break on a Friday and Saturday.

They tried that before with the River City Classic and the fans did not come out to the games and support it. They had teams in from Pennsylvania & Tennessee. Clark County, Christian County, Dunbar and Doss were among the Kentucky teams in this event.

I think that this one is a toss up. Saint Patrick is coming off back to back losses at the hands of West Jessamine and Montgomery County. Two pretty good teams. Bracken is coming off back to back wins over teams that are playing better than their records right now in Pendleton County and Paris. This will be the 6th game that Saint Patrick has played at the Igloo amd that will be double the number of home games the Saints have played this season. It will all come down to who plays the better defense.

It is not 100% yet. The 40th will vote on this next year but it will more than likely happen. I dont think it will hold more than the Fieldhouse, but it is a REALLY nice facility. Montgomery is very lucky to have this new gym.

Yes he is. Not only is he a great guy but he knows his stuff. I hated to see him leave the sidelines but can understand why. It was a step up the ladder.

Nice post BGGreen. Very classy. :thumb: As far as Mike Code, he has always acted with class everytime I have dealt with him. Some folks accussed him of running it up against Saint Patrick a couple of years ago. I took up for BB on this board because they did not run it up. I saw him at the MCIT earlier this month and he thanked me again for telling exactly what happened.

One of my all time favorites was when a team was up big the students would chant: "California oranges, Texas cactus, we play your team just for practice."

And Montgomery should be given their chance. If all goes well then so be it. If not we know where the tournament should be played then. But Montgomery has earned their chance.

Press they are deciding today if the district winners will host the first round games of the region tournament or wether the entire tourney will be held at the Fieldhouse this year.

Why is Mason County always made to be the villian in this discussion? KHSAA rules read: The Commissioner shall determine the regional tournament sites. Schools interested in hosting a regional tournament must submit their request through the defined site selection process at prior year tournaments. The Commissioner’s office may use this site selection plan as a guide, but is not bound by this plan in determining the sites. So how is this Mason County's fault? Later it states: Case TR-13- How are regional basketball tournament sites selected? The placement of the regional basketball tournaments is at the discretion of the Commissioner. The member schools in each region were to have met (principals and/ or athletic directors) in September, 1998 to adopt a plan for designating the site within each region and must regularly revise the plan and submit those plan revisions to the KHSAA. A two-thirds vote is necessary to adopt any plan for recommending the regional tournament sites and voting shall include boys’ and girls’ sites. Criteria to be considered by the schools include but are not limited to- satisfactory capacity within the gym to safely accommodate past (five years) and expected attendance numbers; a minimum of four dressing rooms and an officials dressing room if double headers are to be played; and adequate parking for projected attendance. In addition, discussion must occur regarding a clarification on the amount of proceeds (if any) that is to be kept by the host school as well as limitations on expenses by the host school; determining the amount and/or percentages to be given to each school that participates; the amount and/or percentages to be given to each team in the region not competing in the tournament; and the disbursement of any proceeds from commissions, parking, advertising and any other revenue related to the tournament but not directly related to ticket, program or novelty sales. Why always point the finger (sometimes not the correct one, if you know what I mean :lol: ) at Mason County? If there is a problem with where the tournament is being played, why is it Mason County's fault? Sounds to me that the 10th Region schools are following KHSAA rules.

I did not get to see Coach Fields on the sidelines but did have him a as sub once. Thru all of my years of school I remember that one day having him as a sub, so you know how big of an impression he made on me. Just a pleasure to be in his class. Really a classy individual. :thumb:
