Transy was good during the Mark Turner era. His teams had winning seasons 16 times and won over 300 games. But I do see your point on this.

The Caravan is a golf outing that is attended by members of the UK coaching staffs (football, basketball, golf, soccer and so on) and players. Tubby was speaking in Las Vegas at a Nike clinic. Hey I live in Maysville and I would have much rather been in Vegas over playing golf in the cold and ran. :lol:

Without knowing all the details at Clay County, Messer would be a great hire. He of course has ties to the Tigers program. He would be a tremendous asset to the school as an educator, administrator and as a coach. Dont think they could go wrong with him in my opinion.

I also heard that he said that he was not interested so who knows.

Just my opinion but I think they would strongly consider a young coach. That is just what they need. A young and enthusiastic is probably just what the doctor ordered for that program.

They have struggled in the past, but I feel like that is a program that has potential. With the right attitude and right coach this is a school that could be turned around with some work.

I know that you guys are talking about the money that the kids pay to play in this event, but, it has been that way for quite awhile. It was the same when the game was played at Shawnee State. Pat Moore, who graduated from Maysville in 1988, played in this game and I was lucky enough to make a doanation to him so that he could play in this game.

I have to agree with you. I interviewed Coach Detzel a couple of times for the All A radio network this year and he was great. Funny, classy and just an all round great guy. :thumb:

I sat with Troy Lee at one of the boys state tournament games and he is REALLY excited about the future of his team at Rowan. He thinks if all goes right and with a few lucky bounces (what team does not need those) they could be playing on Saturday night some year in the near future. You never know. He has the knowledge and he sure has the desire to win.

I would have voted for C but it was not an option so I instead voted no. The Sweet "16" is about all comers going for one trophy. How would Paintsville have felt when they won the post season Class A tournament 1996? No one would have ever known if they could have beat Ashland. When Mason won it in 2003 how would they have known if they were better than Ballard? They wouldn't. Because they would not have settled it on the court.

During the KAPOS presentation the announcement was: "Although there is no award given for "Outstanding Crowd Participation" KAPOS President Lucy Moore believes she would be remiss if she did not recognize the excellent enthusiasm and spirit displayed by the Covington Catholic cheering section. Lucy hopes that all of the cheerleaders were taking notes at the excellent display of the school spirit and use them as a model for crowd involvement. Great job Covington Catholic." They also received an award from the KHSAA after the championship last night. It was in a trophy form. Not sure who the guys were that accepted it.

Actually it was the president of KAPOS. I have the announcement but not with me. It a nutshell it said that every cheerleader could take lessons from the way the CCH section conducted themselves in supporting their team and the class with which they did this. It was VERY good and very deserving. You guys were just too cool. I would have loved to have been part of something like that in my high school days. My point is that Mason played on Friday and Cov Cath did not. Mason was worried about playing CC. Take that as a compliment.

Killed?!?! Beat yeah. The better team won tonight but at least Mason advanced to the second round. Not bad for a team that wasn't even suppose to win the region and is so young.

Crowd was not bad. Course with Pendleton it does not matter who or where they play they will bring a great following. Thank you all so much for the kind words. That was a tough game to call but still glad I could entertain and bring you the action.
