I'm glad you reported this. WYMT's Brian Milan broke this last night and I've spent the past 30 minutes trying to find a link before posting.

That is a strange turn of events. Clay is a high pressure position, but Coach Grey seemed to be handling things pretty well......Todd Messer is one name that will be sure to pop up as a potential replacement.

My guess is that it was interfering with his day job(the one that pays the bills)and did not need two sets of headaches.

I'm not sure they have a strong enough team coming back next year for him to take it, unless they have a surprise or two.

That's one I've not thought about. Shannon Hoskins could be a good replacement. I feel bad about Coach Gray giving it up. This was the most f un basketball season in the last 10 years. They were over-achievers. One thing I read in the newspaper article that I liked was that he said he didn't shut the door on his coaching career. I think we'll see Glenn Gray roming the sidelines for some other team in the next 2 to 3 years. I don't see anyone else taking this team over and being successful next year. I wish Glenn the best because he is truly a great person and great basketball coach. I hope whoever takes the job over is serious about keeping the program at the level it was at last year.

It is also said that the job would probably be filled in the next couple of weeks. Who do you guys think will be the possible replacement. Jerry Combs name keeps coming up, but I don't know if he can coach at the high school level. Keith is another name. I just think his time is passed. Who do you guys think will get the job?? Do you guys think Glenn will get back into coaching??

What did Grey say were the reasons he wanted to get out after such a nice season? I know the Tigers will be down next season, but I am sure they will still be very good and competitive with most teams in the region. Something is really unusual about this situation. I am sure as time passes things will become more apparent.

From the outside looking in, it is very strange that a guy would get the job he wanted and then quit. What will they do?:confused: :confused:
