Was a half asleep last night during the sports on WLEX or did they report that Curtis Turley has been named basketball coach at Manual? Just checking as there has been no mention on this as of yet.

I think so 1994. It is a done deal and will be announced officially at a press conference at WJ on Monday. He will meet with the Bracken kids and has already been in contact with some of the guys already.

There are many details that have to be worked out before he says yes or no to West Jessamine. I had dinner with him on Monday and was informed of all that was going on. He really likes Bracken and loves his kids that play for him. I have seen that first hand. (My words not his) But bottom line is that it is a step up. No offense to Bracken but it is a smaller school that will have to have the right draw to get to the region yearly. At WJ they could be a top 5 in the region every year. And at WJ there is a good chance to make it to the show .

I disagree. I think that he has done a great job at Bracken. This is by no means a knock on the kids, because they play hard every night. But he has not had a tremendous amount of talent to work with. Of course you never do at an "A" size school.

G, Have you heard how they are going to keep classes even with teams having the option of playing up?

Publicly I want to say thanks to Sandman for all the work dividing the classes into even breakdowns. Yeah there is a mistake or two, but he did a better job then I could even consider doing. :thumb: Somebody refresh my memory. In the past when schools were allowed to play up in class, what happened to the smallest school in that class? Did they stay in that class or were they bumped down a class?

OK how much is Troy Lee paying you to say all those nice things about him. :lol: Just kidding. I think the world of Troy Lee. IMO he would do an outstanding job but he seems awful happy with his program at Rowan. But you never know.

Yes sir you are correct. The coaches at Mason work VERY well together at every level.

Great post Coach. I know first hand that when coaches dont work together it is harmful to both programs. At my high school it actually killed the football program.

He is not married yet. It is next Saturday. Not so sure about the logic of staying just because he is getting married. He is a good, young coach that a lot of people should have interest in.

Shawn is a very good coach and an even better person. Hated to see him leave Mason County. He deserved a head coaching job though. Hope he is able to get things going there.

You are correct. There used to be a plaque on one end of the stadium that tells about it and the dates.

I do know that in the post season in the 39th district and 10th region it is a rule that you can not tape games other than the ones that your team is playing. Wether it is a rule during the season I am not sure. But most coaches will scout in person or call another coach for a copy of a tape.

He did not get the TM job. They hired a coach with college experience. Not sure that would have been a good job for BB anyway.
