Can anyone update me on how the Lady Royals are doing this summer??

I watched them at the Maysville Gym this past weekend and the girls looked pretty good to me.

It's my understanding that they haven't lost a game yet this summer. They

defeated Harrison Co., Paris, and Fleming Co. a couple of weeks ago over at

Harrison Co. Then went undefeated at home this past Friday and Saturday.

There last game on Saturday against Eastern Brown, OH they were down by

9 or 11 at the half and came back to win by 4 or 5.

They played great in that 2nd half against a good eastern brown team.They only real thing they lack a little is depth.

That's been the story for the past few years. They have what is probably the most athletic starting five in the 10th Region, but a very limited bench.

 

Does it look like Reese will be back?

Megan looked really good in the action I saw. The girl can flat out shoot the ball.

Megan Reese I believe once she gets her legs back in game shape will be the missing link for the Lady Royals. Defenses will have to pay more attention to the outside threats of Cline and Reese, and I do believe that a player or two will step up for the Lady Royals off the bench that will carry them deep into next seasons post season. Megan is ready, confident, and what a mentally strong and tough young lady to come back from back to back ACL's over the last two years:thumb:

Megan played sparingly this summer because they didn't want to take any

chances on her knees. She hit her first shot at Harrison Co. then they took

her right out of the game, they continue do that she'll never get into any

rythum. Also the defense at guard this year will be a big issue. Because of her

knees, Megan has problems keeping her man from going around her and the

two starters at guard have their own share of problems keeping their men in

front of them. This is just one of many areas they need to improve on.

Depth has always been this group's downfall or lack there of! Coach Buser does a nice job, but she isn't for everyone and that at times can be seen in their lack of depth!

Montgomery County will be tougher than ever this year and with the regional tournament at Montgomery they'll be tough to beat. It's a shame that Mason has had such good teams the last couple of years and they haven't gotten to make a trip to Bowling Green.

The Girls 10th region is always exciting to watch, whether it is supposed to be a down year or not it is always a good brand of girls basketball!
