Great game for both teams, and I hate to see Beechwood lose this one.

I remember Giante when he was at Simon Kenton and Dixie. I thought he liked it at SK, but it sounds like he's liking it at Winton Woods. The kid was a pretty good player and thrower. Best of luck to him

I think it's still a big rivalry. It's been one sided for awhile, but you can always count on one of those games being close and it still has huge playoff implications. It's not St. X and Trinity, Boyle vs. LexCath, but it's still relevant

I'm glad someone pointed this out. I get that kids will transfer, but it seems like they have been pulling in guys from all over Dayton

I've been thinking about this game lately and I do wonder how much of the roughing the kicker in the 2nd quarter affected Dougherty, cause he was limping the rest of the game

Beechwood was a bit sluggish for their standards the past 2 rounds. This team was dominating during most of the season, and not to take anything away from Lou. HC and Russellville, but Beechwood didn't play their best football. Noel Rash said they were banged up a bit. You guys are thinking duct tape like Beechwood has no chance now. Not the case, but if Beechwood isn't as dominate like they've been most of the season, then Pikeville will make this an uncomfortable game

There are a few reasons The games used to be in Louisville, but one year there was a scheduling conflict with the Big East and UofL and they couldn't guarantee that the weekend would be available for the finals, although both parties were starting to become fed up with each other. At that time, Commonwealth Stadium was a grass surface and neither side wanted the games played there. A big reason why it's still at WKU though is because Russell is the primary sponsor for it and they are based out of Bowling Green.

Starting RB is out, but they have several players that aren't full strength.

This is intriguing... Pikeville has a monster RB in Pugh, however Beechwood did a great job shutting down a couple big RBs they've faced this year. Can Pikeville pass the ball early? Beechwood is also being held together by duct tape right now. Can they match Pikeville physically? Key player in this one will be Cody Charles, if they have to rely on Pugh getting all the yards then I think Beechwood will win

If Male wants to score 70 against Lafayette then they will, but I don't think they'll see the need to. Lafayette can score on most teams, but haven't faced a defense this good since Trinity.

Great season SK and good luck Lafayette next week, you'll need as much as you can get

If done right, i like the idea of a neutral site for the semi-finals, but you need 2 things that the KHSAA doesn't have: common sense and a commissioner that doesn't mind spending a few bucks

Welcome back to the Finals Beechwood. I don't think Beechwood has played in a title game at WKU yet.

It wasn't that they were physically worn out, but the coaches and players on defense didn't have enough time to make adjustments. You could see the Birds defense getting frustrated because they didn't know how to stop the trap without giving up the edge and without letting Johnson get a favorable match up. My bad on the confusion

Also heard a lot of complaining about the Birds defense or lack of in the 2nd half, but I thought the offense had several possessions that were too quick. If the defense doesn't have enough time to catch their breath and adjust, then you're going to get beat by the same plays each time Also loved the onside kick by Pulaski in the 3rd quarter. You could tell Hines had tremendous confidence in his defense

Really impressed with 2 and 13 for Pulaski, and their offensive line took over in the 2nd half. Didn't look like Highlands expected Pulaski to start clicking on offense in the 2nd half. Pulaski's coaches did a great job of keeping the play calling simple and being patient with Highlands defense to make Hall's reads quick and clean. From talking to some of the Ft. Thomas faithful, sounded like they thought this would be a bit of a down year, but were happy with the way the boys fought back all season

Paris had a great team this year. I was worried about how the 1st round bye would effect them. That's a great group of young men.

I don't know if anyone else thinks this, but does it seem like CCH out thinks themselves too often?

What an awesome atmosphere and an even better game. Was hoping our NKY brethren would get the win, but what a finish! Coach Wooley and the staff has done an incredible job with that program. Great season

I like Mason, I think they've got an excellent facility But watching Princeton, Moeller, Elder, St. X and Colerain playing epic games in the 90s, 00s and 10s at Nippert. Just doesn't feel the same with it somewhere else. 2003 Elder vs. Colerain is still the greatest football game I've ever seen
