Due to running clock and taking out the starters against a sub par team will hurt your calculation in the Lit rankings. Yes, no Trinity in the #1 spot makes it hard to swallow these rankings....

I like everything you said Coltpride, we are young and we are getting better. O-line is coming along, passing attack still needs some work. D back field is smarter then they were at the beginning. This team has not reach its potential. ...game by game improvement in all phases. Beating CAL is still tall task, but I feel a little better than I did at the beginning of the season....

The Good- Defensive front 7 looking good, Running the ball really nice(the Watkins kid had a great game, QB too), blocking much improved. The Bad- Misfires, penalties still nagging DeSales, specially in the first half.....again another slow start. The Ugly- Lex. Cath PA anouncer not giving DeSales players credit over the PA (he stayed silent on anything positive the Colts did in the 2nd half) oh well....

Big difference with Carr out, not to take away from NCC victory (congrats Breds)...you got play with what you have available. Carr is big , experienced QB...a major factor.

DeSales had 2 O-linemen out, 2nd leading rusher out and DE 87 was out too...that I know of last Friday. Colts need to come out firing on all cylinders (witch they haven't all year) for their first road game.

We do seem to come into our games a little flat and stiff ...and yet we do make really good haftime adjustments....just like to see us to get out faster. How did we not connect on that opening play of the game, easy 6, fail. But we do get stronger as the game goes on and I like that....on to Lex.Cath.

Maybe I'm a " Old School " kind of guy...but I would like to see the player drop it or hand it to the ref. There is plenty of time to get your hand shaked, helmet slapped or coach hugged on the way to your sideline. I understand emotions, excitement and celebrations....just don't flip it away from the spot. That way everyone is happy, .........kum-by-ya. IMO

Ditto...great thread. The elite 8 match ups should be the best in the state's 6 fields.(barring upsets) Just want the Colts to take each game one at a time and take care of their business......

I know it's only based only on 3 weeks of football, and a crude math formula BUT.......As a follower of DeSales football, I wouldn't put too much stock in this ranking as of now. More games, better it gets. No way should we be ranked ahead of CAL,Mayfield or even Danville .,,.

A bit of a sluggish start for DeSales but after a couple of Holy Cross turnovers that led to 2 TDs, it was all downhill for the Cougars. We had the numbers and size on them....bit of a mismatch. Good luck HC for the rest of the season.

Well said DeSales Dad, i was little surprised that they didn't run #34 more in the first half. We have faced 2 really good QBs in our first 2 games, teams with some tall receivers also. I really like our front 7 on defense. #87 is looking little like Pertle on the 2013 team. How is Joe Davis ?
