If we make as much improvement as we did from week 1 to week 2, then I say we just might go far....but let's just take it a week at a time, stay healthy and execute to our strengths and deny our opponents theirs...

The Colts prevail tonight 17-0 in a hard hitting contest. The heat only added to the heated rivalry between these two south end schools. Butler is much impoved from last year, they have a QB who can really sling it. Nice skill players too, I expect them to have a nice year. DeSales showed better o-line blocking, with some nice running up the middke...The D was really good.

No scoring in the 3rd...in the 4th..Colts return punt to the 1yd, they punch it in to make it 30-0 with 6:45 left in the game....Hope the Fairdale player is okay, he was taken off the field with a neck brace during the 3rd qt.

We got more work to do also.....I saw somethings at certain positions that need more instruction and better excution.....Now freshmen looked really sharp at this early stage...they should be really nice by the time they are juniors.

Talked to one of the assistant coaches, and he believe that Recktenwald would most likely get the first chance at QB....Yes, Alec Brothers is a terrific athlete and leader too. He step in the North Hardin game and did a heck of a job at QB in a downpour last season. He can QB, but his leadership on Defense is strong. We lost a lot from last season, but as ColtPride said we have great system of bring in new talent. A new stadium is only going help.....Hope everyone down Mayfield is doing well and getting back on their feet after the T-3.....

The brand new stadium is coming along. Look like they are working on the baseball building. Got concrete footings poured for building the stands/stadium. Hopefully the Colts will finally host a home varsity football game for the first time in school history.....

Male vs Manual was a classic on Thanksgiving day when I was young.....funny thing is, it was after the County's Champion met City's Champion for the 3A crown. A week or two later the Male/Manual game on Thanksgiving (both teams were City teams???).....So the State Championship was over before the Turkey Bowl game....Now they play at the end of the regular season. If I'm wrong, someone in the know please correct me, I was just a kid then....

Jason also has us losing to CAL last week....He's a joe palooka sport writer (and he does a good job of it) and he has a job to do. His guess is better than most, not always right....that's why we play still play this game this week.....GO COLTS !

Night after....wouldn't want Toothpick, Cardinal44, Mayfieldfan and etc. driving around our hotel rooms blaring music, firing off guns and making all kinds of racket trying to keep our players awake......If ya'll didn't get it...that was a 'tongue and cheek' comment. Most likely at Fairdale...we played all our 'home' games there this year. And our former AD is now AD there...

Don't be fooled, CAL is a contender, they got the size, the speed, the talent, the coaching.....No pretender there, we beat a very good football team last night.

Big win for the Colts! The O-line did a outstanding job tonight, opening holes for Johnson and the running by committee boys. They kept the ball in DeSales's hands for a good part of the night, also we had some timely passes too, Austin was really on his game tonight...kudos for the coaches making some great play calls..... Defense was it's usual terrific self. That series where CAL had a first and goal on the 6yd line, 3 plays later they were push back to a 4th and 21(?) was pretty nice. CAL did get a FG, better than 6 tho.... A pat on the back to Ryan Smith DE, with a couple of big timely sacks.... Props to the coaches and players at CAL, you got a very nice and very young team with a bright future. Man the QB Carr got a heck of an arm, Wright is a great player as well....Go Colts!

I concur DeSales Dad, very nice stadium, lots of seating. Friendly folks at Monroe County, we were treated very well.......As for the game, Another slow start for the Colts and yet we played the best 3 quarters of the season tonite.....And give Monroe County credit, they came out swinging, hard hitting on defense and creative on offense. Jumping up on us 14-0, had me thinking....they smoked us on that long pass play, as we switched the defensive play call and their QB made us pay....I thought the personnel foul that was called on us before we got our first TD(2nd Quarter) could have been a back breaker, yet we managed to recover from it and score. That show a lot of grit and no quit!.... Our depth made a big difference in the game, as I notice the Falcons were getting slower to the ball on defense and their offense struggle finishing plays in the second half. MCHS played nothing but hard nose football and tested us very well. Again I agree with you DD, the coaches did make the adjustments as needed and kept the kids calm. Go Colts! on to CAL

Now for the serious question: tsyoung7, what do the good people at Monroe County High serve at their concession stand? Dovie burgers, how about some of that delicious BBQ you folks are famous for...any chance of that happening?....after all it's a good size drive from the 'Ville' to your ville.....LOL.
