The brand new stadium is coming along. Look like they are working on the baseball building. Got concrete footings poured for building the stands/stadium. Hopefully the Colts will finally host a home varsity football game for the first time in school history.....

I'm cautiously optimistic with this team. Having solid freshman, and jv programs helps build our depth.

Not the same banter thus far from the Colt fans sends up a alarm for the approaching campaign. Hearing "Cautiously" replace mail the trophy to DeSales High makes one wonder. Certainly a tough road with CAL and their potential this year in the district and of course there is the veteran heavy Cards that are expected to set up a major road block to get out of the West side. Will the numbers allow for a plug the holes and advance work this time is a question that remains.

CAL will be tough no doubt. Stud Qb. They did lose their two top receivers, and their stud rb. If they can replace them, then I'll give them the nod in the district. Winning the region is another story though. lol

CAL crumbles in the playoffs.

How is Desales football team looking this year? Any upcoming stars?

Alec Brothers plays for DeSales, correct? I remember he was a holy terror in grade school at Notre Dame Academy. Is he now a difference maker?

Yes , he is a phenomenal athlete. Heard he was a great leader also

Brothers will be taking the snaps this fall. He is a very good athlete. DeSales had 32 freshman report for weightlifting. Future looks good.

Heard Recktenwald was going to be more likely at the QB position.

Talked to one of the assistant coaches, and he believe that Recktenwald would most likely get the first chance at QB....Yes, Alec Brothers is a terrific athlete and leader too. He step in the North Hardin game and did a heck of a job at QB in a downpour last season. He can QB, but his leadership on Defense is strong. We lost a lot from last season, but as ColtPride said we have great system of bring in new talent. A new stadium is only going help.....Hope everyone down Mayfield is doing well and getting back on their feet after the T-3.....

So...I'm only three months late to this thread. Not bad!!! If you would have asked me about the 2016 Colts during the playoffs last season, I would have moaned about how much size we were losing on the lines. Then we played Mayfield, and I came to the realization that bigger isn't ALWAYS better. That said, we will still be big, just not THAT big. There will be holes to fill there. The backfield should be loaded, and there are two nice options at QB that are polar opposites - one freak athlete and one standard QB with a really nice arm. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of both, especially early. Defensive backfield is outstanding. There will be question marks in the front seven. All in all, there is still plenty of talent, but the PROVEN talent isn't as prevalent as it has been in recent years. We will be much better by playoff time than we will be early in the year, especially since we have so many guys that play baseball and miss the spring workouts. Looking forward to another big season and the new stadium! Go Colts!!!
