DeSales Dad Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 The varsity only played two quarters, and the 14-0 is the varsity score. The Colts looked really good on defense - speed EVERYWHERE. Meade Co was limited to two first downs and only got across midfield once. DeSales used all three QBs, although Recktenwald and the sophomore Pfaadt got most of the snaps. Both looked good as the Colts opened up the offense, passing on 5 of the first 7 plays and splitting about 50/50 pass/run the rest of the way. It was an entirely different look.
MEANGREENMACHINE Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Thanks for the report, DDad. Sadly, it does not look good for Meade, according to your report. However, Meade always starts slowly and improves over the season. Meade fans have to wait and see as usual to see the team consolidate although it sure gets old going through this over and over every year. It would be nice to come out of the gun hot and furious.
DeSales Dad Posted August 13, 2016 Author Posted August 13, 2016 They do appear to have some work to do, particularly on offense. However, to your point I remember a similar outcome in a scrimmage between these two teams a couple of years ago. By the end of that season, Meade was in the 6-A championship game. Better to be good at the end of the season than in a scrimmage.
gchs_uk9 Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Was this played at the new field? Article and pictures in the Courier looked awesome.

It would just be great to see Meade not to have to work out kinks every year before they get going, but what are ya gonna do? That's the Greenwaves for ya.
Coltcity Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 We got more work to do also.....I saw somethings at certain positions that need more instruction and better excution.....Now freshmen looked really sharp at this early stage...they should be really nice by the time they are juniors.
