  1. St X will most likely win this one, but the Bears have shown some true grit this season. Tigers by 14+...
  2. For what it's worth, paying $52,000 for a High School takes a lot sacrifice and dedication on the parents part. The question is...what do they get for their money? They get a great Faith base education in a small school environment. And its all boys...no pretty girls to distract.. lol. I was at graduation last May and they announce over $4,000,000 in scholarships .Now I know that all that money dosen"t make into hands of the students but that is quite a bit cash to be spread around for 70-75 seniors.. Many of the boys were heading off to trade schools or the military too. In fact, 2 or 3 I think were heading off to the military academies. Also there the little known ' Catholic Connection'. That is where you go on job interviews and there is another local Catholic high grad interviewing you, it can give you an inside tract ( not a guarantee ). Aslo there is a brothership like no other ! My son has friends that he will always call brothers for life......You also get get great fan support at ball games. Parent participation is at a premium. Great alumni support too. Not all schools can say this....but I do believe there are some public school that can provide this at some level, I won't deny this. I'm not an elitist or wealthy but I threw this out there in case anyone thinks you got to be crazy to spend this kind money on a high school education....alas, I'll get off my proverbial soapbox.
  3. CAL QB has been back their last 4 games, and it definitely does makes a big difference. It freed up the Wright kid to play WR, where he is a serious threath. They got most everyone back form last year State Championship team now.... Is DeSales any better than a month ago??? We posted several shutouts and gave up very little on Defense since we played them. Offensivly we have spread the ball around to several players with them getting lots of playing time.. But, the competition definitely drop off after the CAL game. This has allow us to rest up and get healthy but has rust set in....I don't think so but we will see this Friday
  4. Going to be rooting for the Yellow jackets, but the Belfry looks so strong ..
  5. Get there early for a parking lot spot..park on near by streets, don't block fire lanes....some neighbors let you park for a fee in their yards....car pool if possible because parking will be a premium this Friday I expect a packed house. Last I looked the weather should be good for a November night. Safe travels.
  6. I've got all the respect due to CAL....They are Healthy(all of their players are back) , Wealthy(stocked with talent) and Wise(returning State Champs). So the Colts better bring their A game. Can't wait til Friday !
  7. Good WIN KCD and go and pull the upset next week against Beechwood next Friday.
  8. The Butler win was 2nd half comeback that could gone either way. ..Our coaches have done a very good job of making halftime adjustments.
  9. With a little trouble with penalties on their first drive which led to a punt, DeSales cruised past a fine Washington County team tonight. With starting QB Aaron Phaat again out, backup A.Johnson did a fine job in his 2nd consecutive start. Again, the Colts Defense pitched another shut out, their 5th in their last 7 games. The competition takes a much larger test next Friday with cross town rival CAL coming into Paul B. Cox Stadium. This will be a rematch of these Titans back in early October with the Colts taking game 1 by a score of 21-3. Don't know if the weather is going to be warmer next week, but I suspect it's going to be a real "Barnburner" on the field !
  10. Cold night but the Colts stay hot. Should be a epic battle next Friday vs CAL.
  11. Great job Bears...South End got it going on tonight.
  12. I tend to find the BGP polls pretty fair. I don't know how many people vote in your polls or how many of the voters see games in other regions ....but in my mind's eye they seem to get it fairly right....but then its my bias opinion.
  13. Lit ratings, Cantrell, Saragren or what ever rating system is used, theyre only as good as their paramenters....the best part of them is that they rule out the human bias that you get in the AP polls etc.
  14. Nice win Washington County !....safe travels this Friday.
  15. Stat wise, VanCleave had the better year.I think that Wright may be the better college prospect. Both great high school players that could transition to college ball easily. I hope we get to see Mr. VanCleave in the playoffs....that would mean we got past Mr. Wright and get a shot at that bullet you call a RB...lol. Safe travels to all teams tonight.
  16. Anybody watched last year's 2A Championship game... Who was better Wright or VanCleave ?....if I was recruiting them...I would take them both. Just from watching the Danville vs. LCA game on prepspin, the VanCleave kid got a extra gear that's incredible !..Now I've seen the Wright kid play 5 times now and man-o-man he is special, fast, athletic and with great size too. They both play O/D....yep I would take them both !
  17. Well said DeSales Dad, couldn't have said it any better then that!....now Go Colts and beat Gallintin in County !
  18. Another great job Ram! No doubt Danville is the prohibited favorite. I would bet that any 2 of the top 5 making it to the finals, but then funnier things can happen
  19. I agree with you rookie57, and I would add LCA on that list. A dark horse is a team that comes out of nowhere to win it all. So I would include Walton Verona, Glasgow, NCC, Erlanger Loyld, Somerset to the list too. Now if Shawnee were to some how stun the 2A world, then you got a movie story line, "Golden Eagles"
