I think the weak district foes Trinity played are holding them down from #1 slot. Victory margin is huge in these ratings. Running clock games skew the results. St.X finally moved up from being around 6th.

All numerical ratings are flawed, but can give a rough idea of relative strength at least. But not much else.

Probably would be more accurate if you strip out the two weakest opponets for each team then run the ratings.

Other than maybe CovCath, Trinity should be rated at least 21 points higher than every other team in Kentucky.

Right, the Magic Number for all these teams has to be more flexible.

I doubt you would find anyone from Boyle to disagree with your assessment. I am not a fan of Litkenhous at all. Not a fan of Cantrall either for that matter.

I've read it before somewhere, it is a power rating, not a scoreboard prediction.

 

Male is rated higher than Simon Kenton, but the formula isn't predicting the score would be 125-114

I think more along the lines that these ratings predict Male is 11 points better than Simon Kenton.

This is a pretty good indicator of the fact that private schools have a huge advantage over public programs. 4 out of the top 10 and top 3 are all private. Its time to give them there own class.

Since you are relatively new to the website, I recommend you research some of the many threads that have been opened on this topic. Bottom line, private schools do not have any advantage over public schools - unless a public school chooses to roadblock students from going to their school.

 

Perhaps someone can link some of the threads on this topic here so we don't end up with another three pages of discussion on it in this thread.
