Final per update thread.

Folks...Mayfield is legit... again

A dominating performance over a very good Tilghman team.. Mayfield's OL took over the game in the 2nd half.. The Cards mixed it up well with the pass and run and the D played outstanding again.. Tilghman still lacking depth, but, played hard and disciplined football, just ran into a buzz saw tonight in the Cardinals.. This Cardinal team has offensive weapons all over the field and a big, experienced line to boot.. Tough combination to handle.. Throw in a fast and aggressive D and this team's going to be hard to beat..

If not for the fumble when they were up 13-0 to PT a glimmer of hope, it could've been over at halftime.

I felt confident the Cards would win but not like that. Gave up a lot of yards on the ground but outside of 1 real good PT drive, the D was pretty solid. PT has a couple really hard nose runners. Very satisfied right now with where we are.

Nice win for Mayfield. Tilghman ran hard but ran into a buzzsaw.

Mayfield is for real and it's going to take a heck of team to beat them.

I haven't weighed in so far this season, but this Mayfiield team is really, really good... IMO better than last. Last season I thought the defense was down a notch. I even mentioned after last year's scrimmage there were a few defense things that need tweaking, some were over the course of the season... some were not. I can't, for the life of me, come up with anything that this team , on either side of the ball, needs to make any big adjustments. This group has come out of the gate at a high level. And like many Mayfield fans, I have seen plenty of MHS football in my time.

I don't know why some of the Mayfield fans keep acting surprised about their team this year. Not sure if it's sandbagging or what, but after the Union City game, their should not be a team on the schedule that gives the Cards a game for more more than the first quarter or 2.

We never look past teams.

Graves, Caldwell , McCrack, Corbin all tough games

No one said anything about looking past them, but the remarks about how surprised at the talent on the team is silly. And it's like this every year nearly. And none of those teams should be within 2 TD's of Mayfield.

Well, speaking for myself only, after losing a record setting 3 year QB, and a record setting 4 year starter at RB, and 3 very good linebackers, I was concerned about the first part of the schedule for sure. I am pleasantly surprised at how well we look right now, especially on offense.

I thought the same till the dismantling of Union City. Mayfield has a more dimensions this year than they've had in a while. They shouldn't be challenged till state Semi's.

Well, graves county usually plays us very tuff and the Corbin game will be a real test for sure.
