DeSales has won those games by a combined score of 209-0. It's a bit of a stretch to call this one a rivalry right now.

DeSales and CAL on the same track headed for their annual showdown.

A bit of a sluggish start for DeSales but after a couple of Holy Cross turnovers that led to 2 TDs, it was all downhill for the Cougars. We had the numbers and size on them....bit of a mismatch. Good luck HC for the rest of the season.

This is not surprising.

Ouch!!! Colts show little mercy for the Cougars.

Fixed that one!

[h=3]Louisville Holy Cross/DeSales Updates[/h]

I believe DeSales has beaten Holy Cross the last 10 out of 11 games. Year by year DeSales gets stronger and Holy Cross gets weaker. I have wondered for years how Holy Cross keeps the doors open with such a small enrollment. I believe Holy Cross has one of the best football coaches in the region. Coaching is not the problem. Low numbers is the problem. Coach Bronger hit the nail right on the head, when he said,DeSales is a 6-A team playing in 2-A. Same could be said about CAL. The real rivalry is CAL vs DeSales.

When did Holy Cross stop wearing the black jersey (Bishop David throw back) when they played DeSales?

I was with the semi-pro Louisville Bulls and during the mid to late 2000's we played our home games at Holy Cross and used to lend our black game pants to Holy Cross for the DeSales game every year. They had a set of black jerseys they only wore for that game. That was when Dave Weston was the coach.

Holy Cross has a some good players, but the depth, speed, size, and over all athletic ability of the DeSales players overwhelms Holy Cross. Holy Cross is a very good 1A school and will be for years to come. DeSales is on a different level in 2A along with CAL and Mayfield. I think those 3 schools could compete on the 6A level and all 3 would be top 10 teams. I don't think they could beat Trinity, but they could all be very competitive with StX and others.
