How is Bryan Station's offense undisciplined, they scored 41 on Highlands last year, beat Scott County, put up 49 on LC last year, this year 49 in 1st game, 35 against a very good SK team, scored alot on the Ryle team in the scrimmage a few weeks ago even though they have alot of new receivers and there best RB got hurt early in the game. Bryan Station's problem is always the same thing lack of depth!! I think undisciplined is an unfair comment for a team that scores so many points. Might not be the offense you like at Ryle but it is still a well coached team.

Lafayette has some nice talent and is a good team but no one in Kentucky except maybe Male can compete with Trinity this year. Just too much talent, too much depth and great coaching makes it too difficult for teams in Kentucky to compete with them.

I agree with McClendon, I would put him in the top 4 in the 9th. Very good player,he does alot of things very well and he is a tough kid on the court. He has to become more consistent with his jump shot and if he does then he is as good as anyone in the 9th.

The top 3 players in the 9th Weyer, McNeil, CVH are close in overall abilities but for my money CVH just has a better all-round game and just makes more big time plays. McNeil and Weyer might turn out to be better college players, time will tell, but for now I would start my team around CVH.

I dont know who will be th best player in college but for HS there is no doubt in my mind CVH is the best player in the 9th region. I wouldnt have traded him for any player in the 9th last year that includes Beetle. The kid just gets it done. McNeil is a nice player, excellent shooter but just doesnt make the big time plays that CVH makes.

Cov Cath has a very good chance to dominate the 9th because overall the 9th is historically a 1 or 2 team region, the last few years the 9th has been like the 6th, 7th or 11th regions have been for the past 40 years in which there were 3-4 or even more legitimate top 20 teams but I don't see the 9th having as strong as region as they have had the last 3 years going forward. Also right now CovCath is a top 10 program but if you take into account the last 40 years CovCath isnt a top program. How many Division1 players has CovCath produced in the last 30 years.

Ballard was definitely the most talented team in the state last year, probably in 2013 when they lost in the finals and I would make the favorite again this year especially since they put away Trinity. Can Renner get it done with this team that hasnt lost a game to a state school.

It was a good game we just have different philosphy on how to close out a game but thats what makes sports great no one way to do things. Hope to see another good game tomorrow.

Dixie didnt protect the ball too well it was stolen and Holmes won.

Totally disagree, several time Dixie got shaky with ball and if dixie's best play when the game is on the line in regional semi against a top team is an isolation play then that is what they should live and die with I just believe there are better plays that can be run at the end of the game with more movement and more options than just an isolation one-on-one play.

Because like i said high school kids have a hard time holding the ball for that long of time and beating a tough defender like mclendon is not an easy thing to do when the clock is running down. Also with a timeout you can discuss other options. We can disagree but fact is Dixie got the ball stolen after holding it for a period of time.

Very good game by two good teams but the coaching in the last minute by Dixie left many fans including myself shaking their heads, unless I'm mistaken Dixie had a timeout, it is so hard for high school kids to hold the ball against a quick guards like holmes for 45+seconds, holmes almost stole the ball several times. Why not call a time out sometime during that span make sure you get the play you want with at least some movement, high pick roll etc. instead of having a kid hold the ball trying to go one on one against a very good defender.

Just because you dont get the ultimate prize doesnt mean you arent successful, NCC didnt lose to some chump school they lost to one of the top programs in the state of Kentucky which has a very talented point guard and other talented players, last year they lost to the eventual state champions, the year before they lost to a great Holmes team. I will take 28-4 any year as success, maybe not my ultimate goal but still a very successful year!! .

28-4 is a very successful season no matter how you size it up sure their ultimate goal was to win the region and state and they didnt get there but they still had a great year. Only one team can win the region and when you play in a region with more than 1 or 2 good teams it can be tough. NCC lost to a very good Holmes team, sure they are disappointed but those kids layed it on the line night in and night out and that is all you can ask!!

Ballard and Trinity were the two best teams last year but I dont remember either one cutting the nets down in Rupp.

They are in their 3rd year of Division 1 and playing competitive in a nice league, judge NKU when they are eligble for the NCAA tourney and will be able to recruit a kid giving him a chance to play in the big dance. I guarantee Brent Bach and Hatton wouldnt have improved their record this year.

Jackson Davis wasnt going to NKU, he was being recruited by alot higher level of teams, also NKU cant play in the NCAA so there is no way he was going there. Hatton was nice player but I would take the point guard Bez has now from Indiana over him any day of the week. Bez cant sign every northern ky kid nor should he, he has to recruit players that fit his system no matter where they come from.

North Florida and FGC arent better than Murray State nor do they have the tradition of alot of schools in OVC. The OVC is the natural league for NKU and would do wonders on helping with attendance if they could get in the league.

I saw Simon Kenton play and they did have a nice team but no matter how you slice it 17 -16 regular season is a medicore year. As you have stated there were reasons for their record but you dont see many teams with that recored make it to the state championship unless they had some issues during the year or their region was somewhat down.. Very rarely have I seen a team with a mediocre record win the 11th region but the 11th region has won the state title 13 times since 1980 with at least 6 different schools.

Cov. catholic is more mentality tough than New. Cath due to their generations of tradition, what a joke. Cov. Catholic was no powerhouse in the 70's, 80's , 90's, they had a great run in the 1960's. When I played high school ball in Lexington in the 1980's I never even heard of Cov. Catholic, did know about Dicky Beal and the Holmes program. Cov. Catholic is on a good run now due to some talented players and a very good coach. Ronny Dawn was pretty mentally tough when he helped lead New Cath to 3 straight regional titles in the 70's. Both teams are well coached and have some talent, I believe the difference in the teams is that Cov. Catholic is a better defensive team and are able to be very disruptive to how New Cath. wants to play. Both teams are mentally tough just look at their records the past 2 years.

I was at the game and I would agree that Dixie has the more talented team and they were up at least 15 when the guard got hurt. I would disagree with the goon squad, the coach put in the small line-up to put alot more pressure on the ball and they were being very aggressive, I do agree the refs were not calling the game as tight as they should have which led to St. Henry being even more aggressive. If a kid for St. Henry stomped on the Dixie players ankle when he was on the ground then I dont blame the Dixie team for being upset as that is wrong!! Dixie has a nice team and if they continue to improve and play together they can compete with the top two teams in the region.

Dirk Minniefield would be on any list regading the 11th region. One the greatest High School guards ever from the state of Kentucky.

Holmes will have a very nice team this year but the last two years they were a legitimate threat to win the state title and could compete with anyone in the state. This year I just dont see the inside game they have had in the past not only from the rebounding and offensive production but on the defensive end. Bolden will have to be lights out when they play top 10 - 15 competition. But they will still be fun to watch and will have a good year.
