St Henry led by as many as 11 in the 3rd qtr, Holmes cuts it to 5 to end the qtr and takes over in the 4th.

 

Listerman shortened his bench in the 2nd half and McClendon stayed out of foul trouble (picked up 2nd foul with 701 left in the 2nd qtr and sat) which made a huge difference at both ends.

 

Holmes struggled to score against St Henry zone then figured things out mid 3rd qtr and got going.

 

Rough day for the stripes...Faust was furious and Listerman wasn't too happy either. Faust went as far as making a comment toward them after they left the floor at the end.

 

2 Bolden fts with 2.1 left sealed the deal.

St Henry honestly just came out with more intensity than Holmes.

 

That and Holmes has a long way to go before they get to where they're expected to be. They are still figuring out a set rotation and how to play together as a team defensively.

Like a Wyoming geyser.

Fun to watch James Bolden play. He can score from anywhere, but he also sets up his teammates. He works hard, is a team player and cares about his fellow Bulldogs. Hard not to be a fan.

Crusaders played very well together. They have a really nice team theme going on right now. Balanced scoring by Goetz, Green and Kunstek. Wallenhorst had a nice night with 16 points. Logan Kenny is also a key part to the Cru's momentum.

 

Exam week coming up. No games until Friday, Dec. 19th at Paris versus Bullitt Central at 11:30am.

This is not your Holmes team of the last couple years. They are really lacking the inside play they had with Chames/Hill/Engelmon. The recipe will be for other teams to shut down Bolden and make someone else try to beat you. I'm disappointed that St.Henry lost this game (although i'm always typically disappointed when they lose). This game and the Conner game are games they need to learn to win.

I expect Holmes to improve as the year goes on. I might have to go to the Holmes/Holy Cross game this year.
