JokersWild24
The unofficial state championship game being played in a region semi. Don't think it's fair to say that. The winner of that one will be a favorite no doubt, but still plenty of work left. Lots of teams can say they've beaten Trinity. Not so much for Ballard, but the fear of Trinity and their aura of invincibility won't be there like it has been in years past.

JokersWild24
It is fair to say that, they are the two best teams in the state. Best teams in the State, I'll agree there. The best team doesn't always win though and they have a fairly tough run at State once they get past the first one. Henderson Co., Central, and Lafayette have all clipped Trinity this year. People won't fear them like they did the 2012 team. Maybe that's a mistake and people are overly dismissive toward them, maybe it gives teams confidence they wouldn't otherwise have either. Bengal Maniac
The unofficial state championship game being played in a region semi. Somebody says that every year about the 7th. Doesn't usually happen that way. Impressive by the Bruins, though.
Northside
It is fair to say that, they are the two best teams in the state. Ballard and Trinity were the two best teams last year but I dont remember either one cutting the nets down in Rupp.
Lucky
Congrats to Ballard. Sets up for a great semi final game against Trinity.
Griffster
Somebody says that every year about the 7th. Doesn't usually happen that way. Impressive by the Bruins, though. Newport Catholic had Ballard on the ropes in the LIT. Covington Catholic is way strong and Taylor County is as fast as any team in the state. Wide open sweet 16! Best state tournament in years...mark it down.
The Professor
This score is surprising. I realize Ballard is number 1 ranked and has lost only twice, but didn't they barely squeak past Central by 4 on their home court a few weeks ago?

Ballard has had more than a couple of closer games in the last two weeks versus regional opponents. They've had to play and beat both Central and Eastern three times. The interesting part of the season now begins...If the 7th region plays out to script they will have to play two teams they have not played yet this year- Trinity and Manual. Manual and Ballard were cancelled because of weather. Trinity lost to Central in the LIT so that game never materialized. Ballard adjusted to Centrals run out breaks and Corey Douglas nearly pulled off a triple double last night. Trinitys length will most likely deny him a repeat performance. Ballards speed most likely will cause problems for the rocks. Somethings gotta give!
