That was a great game, 2 schools going at it but Lloyd made a big mistake on the free throw line at the end of the game not having their two bigs down on the block to get the rebound that hall ended up getting. Should have had the ball down 2 with a chance to tie or win.

No way Ryle is better than Male or St. X, too much team speed in Louisville for the NKY teams. Ryle and SK have played no one both would be in for a rude awakening if they play one of the top 4 Louisville teams. Simon Kenton above Lafayette, how did that work out last year.

Did Scott Draud make a difference for HHS basketball, Did Derek Smith and Jared Lorenzen make a difference for HHS football and basketball, just to name a few. Star players that go to a good team/program can make a big difference and elevate that program to a different level. If Donte Hendrix was at Ryle this year their team would be significantly better and that is just one player from Cooper. I would ask why dont the other Louisville 6A/5A schools ever win a state title in football such as Ballard, Doss, Butler, PRP, Seneca, Southern, Valley etc., most dont even field a competitive team. Probably tough to keep a star player at these schools when you have 3 powerhouses in a city that a player can go to if they choose.

Top 4 in order to begin season (not based on college potential just production at the HS level) 1. Cole (Just gets it done at the HS level in all phases of the game) 2. McNeil (Very good shooter, tough defender will have to play big for Cooper to beat CCH) 3a. Kunkel - (Nice all around game, look for big junior year) 3b. Fredrick - (Potential to be a big time scorer for CCH the next two years) Kunkel and Fredrick have potential to be very good college players. CCH should be a top 10 team in the state with their depth and coaching. Cooper will have to rebound really well to beat top 10 competition on a consistent basis but we shall see who steps up for them.

Mt. Rushmore only has 4 slots, Hammonds and Brown top players but dont think they were better than the 4 listed. BS has had a lot of talent come thru the doors. Many of us played college ball at some level and there were some who went to BS but didnt play but competed at the Dirt Bowl in Lex showing off their talent!!

Yeah Barry then transferred to uofl but ended up at georgetown star on nc team. Probably had a 40 inch vertical.

I dont think d1 has hurt just too big of an arena. Regents was smaller than most high schools so it was easy to fill and they had some really good years when laron was there. I have seen some very good games since they moved d1 and it will only get better as the team improves.

Barry Bowman and Tony Davis.Reggie did go to Darmouth but Laron was a better high school player, i think reggie was 1992.

Probably, he was Jv coach when i played there. He never had as much talent as Barlow had in th 70' s and 80's but he was a better coach.

Laron very nice player but not in top 20 at BS especially if we are just taking into account high school career. Laron had 2 division 1 signees on the1993 team he played on. He did have a nice career at nku.

Bryan Station Defenders Jack Givens (UK, Atlanta Hawks) Mel Turpin (UK, Utah Jazz) Anthony Jackson (Florida State, brief stint Lakers) Shelvin Mack (Butler, now with Jazz) Hard to leave off others especially Mike Allen (schools all time leading scorer, mvp of sun belt league in 1994). Many D1, d11, juco, naia players to have come out of defender land.

Where is he going and did he leave due to no support from the ad.

Ryle took the Cru too lightly, Mann is a very nice pitcher but he isnt Ziggy and if you scouted St. Henry you would know their ace is a very good pitcher who always keeps them in games. Cant play in the second round if you dont win the 1st game and I'd rather go down with my ace especially if I can take him out before the 75th pitch and he can still pitch in the title game. Also didnt understant the bunt in the 7th basically giving up an out with I believe their lead off hitter.

Did you see their National title team several D1 kids on that team, didnt see Bellarmine this year so not sure how good they are but Weyer can play D1 maybe not be a star but he could contribute at alot of programs.

Just because he is going to Bellarmine doesnt mean he doesnt have D1 talent, Bellarmine has other kids that could have gone D1 in the past 10 years that decided to play there.

Weyer would definitely contribute at NKU if he went there, He is a D-1 talent and could play in alot of the smaller D1 leagues. The Schulte ? kid from NCC plays D-1 and he is not near as skilled as Weyer.

Probaby Carter or Gary Taylor, The 80 team lost in region final in big upset to Franklin County. I remember playing Holmes in 82 up at Covington and they were not very good, I think one of Dicky's brothers was on the team. We scored a 100 in that game but it wasnt close.

Southworth didnt get any Varsity clock in 80 plus he couldnt jump at all, probably remember him from our 81 team as he started small forward. Bryan Station has had many guys who could jump but it might have been Rodne Carter on that team.

You have me going down memory lane I played at Bryan Station in the 80's but was in 8th grade in 80. Always heard what a great game the Holmes game was in 1980, Conner, Berry and Jeff Clay were just sophomores that year, Bird was a junior. Wonder who you are talking about as the leaper, it wasnt Southworth he was a 6'2" white boy who had about a 5" vertical :ylsuper: I played against alot of great guards in Lexington thru the years but must say Dicky Beal was the best I ever checked!!

Probably time to get rid of Ruthsatz he just doesn't know who to play Lol! Only one of the top coaches in Kentucky.

Ben Weyer had one of the most dominant regional touraments (points, rebounds, blocked shots, controlling the paint) that I have ever witnessed. Bellarmine got a steal, very shocked that he will not be playing DI some where. His length makes him play more like 6' 9 than 6'6". Also, he is a very versatile player.

Why would you give up, Henry Clay is a very talented team. Dunbar and HC are both top 10 teams probably top 5 when they are playing at the top of their game. Picking Dunbar to win it all is a good pick if they can win the 11th region!!
