  1. If Bellarmine had to play a full schedule in the Horizon conference with their current roster they would not be very successful. Bellarmine on a given night can compete with a D1 school but not when every game would be against D1 horizon level competition. NKU, Wright State, Oakland etc. just have more talent, depth and size than Bellamine which takes a toll when you have to play a 16 to 18 game conference schedule.
  2. How does having a 2A tournament or a state going to a class system mean we should give every team in the state a championship trophy. Go watch the 1A tourney and see how hard the kids compete. I dont think anyone is wanting a trophy given to them by having more than 1 class. It will still be very tough to win a state title if you had 3 or 4 classes in Kentucky. The Class system just gives smaller schools a better opportunity. Try being a 1A school in the 6th, 7th or 11th region and see how easy it is to win a region title.
  3. I disagree, seeding could bring excitement by setting up games where a 16 seeds beats a 1 seed. Also, seeding eliminates 1st round games where top ranked teams play which in my opinion would be good for the tourney. The Litkenhous rating would be fine but I'm OK with a committee.
  4. Form a committee or use the Litkenhous ratings. Seeding is never perfect but I'm sure it wouldn't be that difficult. Seeding would also force some teams to step up their scheduling and play a few games outside of their regions.
  5. Totally agree the state tournament needs to change and you have some very good ideas. Seeding would create a chance for upsets in the 1st round and better probability of good match-ups moving forward. Love your idea of having the tourney in Louisville once every three or four years. I think Louisville would do a great job of hosting and the YUM center would be a great venue for the tourney.
  6. Newport has some talent but tonight they played with little focus or enthusiasm. Not sure what offense they were trying to run but 1 pass and then go one on one isnt going to be effective against a team like Cooper. Also, was surprised how they tried to defend Kunkel. Very poor effort from a team that has some good players.
  7. I was at the Boone/ CCH games and I believe the mask is bothering him. Also, Kunkle seems to be a bit leg-weary which is understandable given the tough schedule Cooper has played and all he is asked to do. That being said CCH did a great job of team defense on him. He had a difficult time getting the ball in scoring positions and when he did attack the rim CCH challenged all his shots. Both teams are very good on the defensive end when they are locked in.
  8. It is not a one horse race, Cooper is still a big threat but do need to get healthy and back to playing at the level they were a few weeks ago. Also several other teams in the region could pull an upset on a given night.
  9. It was a combination of good defense, foul trouble and I would assume missed practice time that led to a sub-par performance for Kunkle. Boone did a good job of putting pressure on Cooper outside the 3 point line and challenging their shots. Boone has some decent talent but make a lot of mental errors which against top competition make it tough to win. If they can play more under control and bring the same intensity they can compete with most teams in the NKY area.
  10. Shout out to Mr. Sixer, I probably wouldn't have gone to this game but I remembered him saying dont sleep on Boone. I owe you a bag of popcorn!
  11. Haynes kid made some big shots, Kunkle didn't play well injury and foul trouble hurt him tonight
  12. Haynes with bucket, 65 - 63 Boone, 7.3 left
  13. #3 for Boone takes crazy shot, Cooper on line double bonus
