Colonels_Wear_Blue
Press release was sent out to a small number of media outlets. The inaugural year for the tournament will be 2018/2019. There will be both boys and girls tournaments. They are currently looking into venue options, but they have set the tournament dates for January 17-20, 2019. The tournament will be open to teams from schools whose enrollments make them too big to compete in the All 'A', and whose enrollments are also less than 1,000 students. Perry and Mason County will have to ramp up the current programs if they are going to compete with the other teams on your list.
Knuckle
I like it. We need classes for all sports just like football. If 95% of all the other states in the country have classes for all their sports why doesn’t KY?
gchs_uk9
This is dumb IMO. Eh. It is a mid-season tournament, nothing more. More power to them.
allsport71
I think Holmes falls into this category, people seem to think they are still a large school and they are not, I believe they are in the 900s.
Coach34
I like it. We need classes for all sports just like football. If 95% of all the other states in the country have classes for all their sports why doesn’t KY? Because those other states have thousands of schools where Kentucky only have 200 and something. Classes for basketball will water down the state title and not make it mean much. Nobody will ever know the true state champ. Let’s just give everyone a trophy and a participation ribbon while we’re at it.
