There’s four schools in the 14th region that would be eligible: Perry County Central, Letcher County Central, Estill County and Powell County.

The other 12 schools in the region are in the All A Classic.

Why don't we just have 10 classes with 20 teams in each, then everyone can be a top 20 school? Let's skip the regional tournaments, too, so everyone can make the "big dance".

It's just another calendar disruption.

Nothing brings out the hyperbole in posters like the All A and now 2A Classics. We've already seen trophies, participation ribbons, and calendar disruptions brought up - all for an event that will see Paducah Tilghman beat Corbin at Henry County High School on a random Saturday night in January!

Because those other states have thousands of schools where Kentucky only have 200 and something. Classes for basketball will water down the state title and not make it mean much. Nobody will ever know the true state champ. Let’s just give everyone a trophy and a participation ribbon while we’re at it.

 

No not all of those states have more schools then us. Some do and some don’t. West Virginia, Connecticut, Iowa, South Carolina, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Utah, Kansas, Nebraska, Oregon, Oklahoma and several others all have similar or smaller population then Kentucky does. All those except the really small ones like Vermont all have classification for all sports. So don’t give me our state is to small crap. If you want to say you don’t want to lose the sweet 16 and what that is, ok. I can at least understand that a little bit. Doesn’t make since Ky classifies football, track and cross country but nothing else. All I’m saying is do them all or none of them.

I think Holmes falls into this category, people seem to think they are still a large school and they are not, I believe they are in the 900s.

I like the All - A.

 

But not interested in a class system. That's what this is heading us towards.

 

Have yet to meet an Indiana HS basketball fan who is happy about the Hoosier state's move to classes.... (I'm sure there are some, but I haven't met them yet)

Does Mason County or Holmes really need Tournament like this?? Last time I checked enrollment isn’t a problem for their success.

With the list of enrollments you sent us, They are the only 9th region team that fit those categories.

Lower their standards?? You'll have to explain that further. As someone said previously it's just another mid-season tournament. The kids like playing in tournaments. It is about the kids right? It doesn't affect the Sweet 16. My prediction is 8+ pages of BGP's debating something that needs no debate.

Let's suppose you hit the Powerball. $10 million. Would you rather split the $10 million with 3 other winners, or would you prefer to split it with 5 other winners?

So this isn’t a state championship, correct? This is the same thing as if BGP sponsored it and it was called the BGP 2A invitational tournament. It’s just a basketball tournament in the middle of the season.

It’s a state tournament played with teams whose enrollments are below 1000 and don’t qualify for the All A Classic state tournament enrollment guidelines. But same as the All A, it’s a state tournament because it’s statewide and involves all 16 regions.

Mixed emotions on this, but for the most part I don't like it.
