  1. Ben Johnson. Both of his brothers were very good players at LCH. He can really shoot the ball, he had 25 on LCA last time they played.
  2. The freshman was taking it out and he just made a bad play but he had 27 points so without him they wouldnt have been in the game.
  3. 8 seconds left Lex. Catholic up 2 taking ball out under LCA basket and they try to throw a long pass which is picked off at half court. LCA kid goes down and hits a layup with 3 seconds and is fouled, hits free throw to win it. LCA had only committed 4 fouls so they were going to have to foul 3 times before bonus. Johnson for LCH was unconscious from 3 point line, believe he hit 7.
  4. I agree with Faulkner being the favorite. I have not seen him play but several people I have spoken with feel he is the best senior in the state. Kunkle, Fredrick, Scrubb and Boone are the 4 best seniors I saw play this year.
  5. Station has the best player but they are going to have shoot a decent % from 3 and not get beat on the boards. HC will be a tough out. I have to go with the Defenders as I could never pick HC LOL!!
  6. Agree, as silly as the comments were that Fredrick should run away with player year stating 5 Kunkel's would wipe out 5 Frederics's is way over the top. Fredrick is playing at as high of level as anyone in the state. Both kids were very deserving and if ever there was a year for co-players this was definitely it.
  7. Just got home from the game. I hadn't been to MC since I played there a long time ago, it was a great atomosphere tonight. CCH played a great game. Fredrick was very impressive tonight, best I have seen him play in person. His movement without the basketball was great!! He came off screens as well as you can and was constant movement on the offensive end. He did a great job of scoring baskets in the lane and not just looking for the 3. Also, Mayer was great. Kid guarded 3 different positions and if they were keeping stats for deflections tonight he might have set a record. Mayer just does all the little things and when he is playing well CCH is very tough to beat. CCH defensive was great, contested every shot. MC has a nice team but gave up too many layups to CCH. On offensive just never seemed to get in a good flow but CCH defense had a lot to due with it. I was suprised that MC did not pick up full court and put pressure on CCH which has hurt them several times this year.
  8. 1. How did you determine CCH plays the hardest schedule. I dont think that is a Fact. 2. CJ was better in combined head to head is just an opinion and we all have one. 3. CJ has one regional loss and Kunkel two, so what. I would argue CCH has a lot more talent than Cooper and should have never lost to them but they did even with the undisputed player of the year according to you. I like your passion for Frederick and like I stated before he is very deserving of being co-player of the year. CJ is a top notch player and his team has a great chance to win it all so just enjoy the ride.
  9. Hopefully he wins or I'm sure you will let us know the voting was rigged!!
  10. Most of the like opponents are against NKY teams that both Cooper and CCH destroyed so what does it matter how much each player averaged. They both could have 30+ against the majority of NKY teams if they wanted to. Also, Kunkel stats are skewed due to his injury which I dont mind if that costs him player of the year because injuries are part of the game. Do you really think Highlands can hold him to 4 points if he was playing at full strength. Like I stated before I have no problem with anyone who votes for Frederick as he is very deserving but Kunkle is very deserving if wins!
  11. To say the competition wasnt close is just incorrect, the Florida team that beat CCH wouldnt have won Lex. Catholic tournament. By the way in the latest RPI Belmont is ranked 77, NKU 111, Iowa 136 so not sure who is going to the best school.
  12. Your reply shows you are a CCH homer, I was at the Lex. Catholic tournament and watched CCH play in the Florida tournament. For you to state the Lex Catholic tournament wasn't close in competition is just not the case. Both tournaments had very good teams and Kunkel was MVP of his tournament!! Anyone that was objective and watched the KOB game between CCH and Cooper knows who played the better game I dont care who scored the most points. Both teams played very good teams in the KOB but I guess every team or tournament that CCH plays is always going to be harder or the tougher road than cooper. Hard to tell if Frederick is a good defender because every game I watch he never guards the best player which is fine because CCH probably doesnt want to get him in foul trouble. Also, Frederick rarely sees the double teams that Kunkel does due to the team he has around him. I have no problem with your vote going to Frederick he is very deserving but stating he should run away with the award I just dont agree.
  13. Your statement that Frederick should run away with player of the year in Northern Kentucky is just plain silly and makes you look like a CCH homer which you probably are. Kunkel was MVP of Lex. Catholic's tournament which was loaded with top teams. He out played Frederick in the KOB which is the top tournament in KY. Also, your stats dont take into account who is the better defender which most objective observers would give to Kunkel IMO. Kunkel had an injury that slowed him down for a few games which some voters might hold against him and I have no problem with that. Frederick has had a great year and is a deserving player of the year if he wins it but to say he should run away with the award, c,mon man!
