Ryle should be able to give them like they did about 5 years ago in the playoffs, but beating them is a whole different level.

Yes, if contender is being defined as a team that could make it to the state championship game. Their odds of beating Trinity or Male would be very slim, but as the saying goes, "any given day ".

I think Ryle needs to prove they can beat the teams in their District and also SK before people talk about them against Louisville schools. I would say the top 4 teams in NKY right now in no particular order is SK, Cooper, Ryle and Conner. Which Ryle has yet to play or beat any of them yet. So way to early for this discussion imo.

I agree. We need to see how they stack up against NKY 6A before we can decide on any wider comparisons. They do appear solid, but 'contender' is a hard title to earn in 6A.

I love where nky 6A is heading, but nothing has told me they are ready for the Loisville top teams yet. Some started thinking Dixie was when they dominated a couple years ago and they got dismantled.

 

I'll throw this out there for discussion. Honest question. What even makes us think that either Ryle or SK are even close to being ready to compete. What have they or any NkY team done over the last two years to even put them in the discussion with Louisville teams?

 

I am very excited they are ALL getting better, but in all honesty, how do we really know that are getting better? What have they done to show us that? That's not a jab at any of them. If their were things to identify with this would be convincing. But I can't think and any reason why we should say they are ready or really any proof that they are significantly better than in the recent past. Again, all of them are improved and continue to do so. But I'm not sure we have any indicators on "how much they have improved"

 

I know I'll get all the hate because I'm a bluebird fan and you'll want to take it there. But that's not my intention. I'm asking a serious question. How do we measure how far they have really come?

I would say they are definitely as much of a contender as SK. People only are talking about their offense though. That defense is pretty darn good as well. They are the most balanced overall team in NKY.

I'm not real sure what makes everyone think they should roll through the rest of their schedule? They haven't been able to beat Cooper for a couple years. They always match up well with each other. But with that being said, they do they have the talent to make a run at it

Contender? Sure. But no one outside T or Male is going to win it.
