Breds tried to give this one away, but in the end they prevail over a very determined Juggs team, in what was a helluva a game at Ludlow.

That was a great game, 2 schools going at it but Lloyd made a big mistake on the free throw line at the end of the game not having their two bigs down on the block to get the rebound that hall ended up getting. Should have had the ball down 2 with a chance to tie or win.

Congrats to NewCath on the win. Does anybody know who made the All Tourney Team?

1st half neither team could get the offense going, although some credit needs to go to both teams defense. 2nd half the Breds looked like they were going to take over, and with under 3:00 remaining in the period have a 38-29 advantage, but the Juggs said, "na baba na", and with under 5:00 left in the game the Juggs are back on top, 43-40. However, NewCath gets triples from Moeves and Hall from NBA range and a Wurtz piont blank bucket, and the Breds are up 48-43 with 3:03 left.

With 2:44 on the clock, Luke Moeves hits 2 FT's and the Breds are up 50-43. Following a Lloyd missed shoot, with under 2:30, Brennan Hall slips at mid-court and Jamal Neal steals the rock and goes uncontested to the rack. The Breds play 4-corners and call timeout with 1:34 on the clock and a 50-45 lead. They continue to play 4-corners and Hall is fouled with 1:11 and sinks both FT's to put the Breds up 52-45. Evan Molitor scores from point blank and Stephen Pangallo is fouled with :53.3, he makes 1/2 and the Breds are up 53-47. Lloyd goes down and misses the shot and Moeves is fouled with :37.7, but misses both freebies. Cipolonne is fouled with :29.7 and makes both to close the gap at 53-49. Moeves is fouled immediately and goes 1/2 and it's 54-49 with :28.8. Lloyd goes to the other end and turns it over with :22.7, NewCath can't get the ball in and calls timeout. Following the TO, McClendon makes a great steal about 30 feet out and takes a dribble and launches a 3 that is MONEY, and with less than 20 ticks on the clock it's now become "nail-biting" time for the Breds faithful.

With :15.1 Jalen McDaniel (who BTW played some GREAT "D" on Hamilton) misses both FT's, but on the 2nd miss Hall and a Lloyd player get the rebound and on the tied up ball it stays with the Breds. With :12.3 Trey Wurtz is fouled, misses the 1st, but makes the 2nd and it's a 55-52 game. NewCath plays some great "D" as they bring the ball up, and Molitor is poised for a 3, but Trey Wurtz comes up big and blocks it, but the ball is gathered up by Cipolonne and his contested triple draws nothing but air and goes out of bounds with :01.9. The game ends as Austin Neff, who is throwing the ball in, throws it off the back of the Lloyd defender, retrieves the ball and the clock runs out.

NewCath had some tough luck on at least 7 or 8 point blank/tip in shots, that I was starting to wonder if the ghost of Charles Hurt was making an appearance.

Dang you beat me to it by a minute. :banghead:

I think free throw shooting practice is in the Breds very near future, like maybe tonight. :lol2:

Very uncharacteristic of these guys missing that many.

This will mark the 13th time since 2000 that NewCath will represent the 9th Region at the All A State tourney.

The Breds will face a familiar foe in Round 1 on Thursday at 11:30......the 14th Region Champ Cordia Lions, who sent the Breds packing in the Semi-Finals last year and who they beat in the finals in 2014.

Great breakdown, very impressive to remember it all in such detail. :thumb:

Almost makes me feel like I was there.

Lloyd going to a zone in the second half played right into the Breds hands. Moeves and the Breds knocked down some big 3's in the second half.

The Juggs need to run more sets/plays to get Hamilton the ball more.

Does anyone no about Jeffersons injury
