Technically he did only agree to one year. Coaching contracts are only one year in length.

Kent Shartzer has been an assistant coach for the baseball team at NKU since 2010. He primarily works with the infielders and acts as the hitting coach.

 

Shartzer earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bellarmine University in 2005. He coached at Holy Cross High School in Louisville, Ky. in 2006 before returning to his alma mater in 2007. He helped coach the Knight’s baseball team for two seasons.

 

Shartzer resides in Williamsburg, Ohio, with his wife, Allie, and daughter, Stevi.
