I knew beating CovCath would get them noticed. Seriously, congrats to St. Xavier, their players, and their fans. That is a great honor for a KY program. It is always nice when one of them climb to that level of notoriety. :thumb:

Villanova didn't have any guards out of shape, lazy, and possessing a world-class bad attitude? That's a shame. Joe Crawford has about 5 months to fix 3 years of disappointment; fits of inconsistency mixed in with bouts of under-achievement.

This should be one of the most entertaining games on Friday night (especially if the 67-58 [or thereabouts] regular season match-up is any indication). I not only expect Clay Co. to win this game but I like their chances to pull the upset over LCC in Round #2.

Who is "he?" Dixon? Sure, I'd think so barring a collapse in the next few weeks. If "he" is Woodson than probably not, unless of course they run the table the next 3 weeks and he looks great in doing so.

Why has Mark Coury been starting? I don't think he is awful, I think (as I said) he is a 9th or 10th man on this team. You want my opinion on why he was starting? To send a message to Joey C. Harris is fine, but his unfortunate injury won't make a hill of beans difference long-term in the results this team accumulates.

How do you compare the two? Dixon is a great college player and is having a magical season on a team ranked in the Top 5. Woodson is a great college player that is styled completely differently than Dixon, on a good not great team, and will be drafted rounds ahead of Dixon. No need to compare. Dixon may well win the Heisman, Woodson will be drafted in the Top 10 to 12 picks. Both winners in my book.

Are you serious? Do you really believe the stuff you type? If there would have been a thread last week on Razor Ramon you would have been the first one saying he was WAY over-rated and junk. While obviously not a FROSH, CDR is a freak of epic proportions. While I wouldn't put him in the Top 5, I think K.K. in Columbus is going to be a stud this year. He is really, really good.

Notice that he subtly picked UK to finish 3rd (or worse) in the SEC East. I'm not saying he is wrong, but that is counter to what most experts are predicting. Darrin Horn needs to win this year at WKU. Courtney Lee may be the best player no one has ever heard of.

Bullitt East has a chance to make a run into the playoffs (I wouldn't be horribly surprised to see them beat Lone Oak and then Valley / Warren East to make it all the way to the Carpet), I look for them to win this game by 13 - 17 points.

Rockcastle wins comfortably.

Lincoln Co. is playing good football right now, maybe great, with only a 2 point loss to Scott County keeping them from being perfect in Sept. and Oct. That being said, I think this is by far the best 1 / 4 match-up in 5A this weekend. I like Lincoln Co. to win (and go deep in the playoffs), but this one will be close.

I said the exact same thing when a buddy of mine called to salt my wounds about Nebraska. The Huskers are HORRIBLE right now, maybe worse, but they aren't 1 and something with a home loss to Navy on the resume'. I don't think the roster is nearly as "pathetic" as their play on the field would indicate.

Wait until CSHS sees this thread. He has been touting Coury for a year as a sleeping giant who will contribute mightily before his time in Lexington is concluded. I like his effort, you have too, and he'll be effective in spurts this season.

I think the best first-round match-ups in 5A are: CCH / Dixie Lincoln Co. / Mercer Co. Perry Co. Central / Clay Co.
