As Jay mentioned, this team is not at the level they will be when Duran returns, but Hill and Rice are playing really well.

As long as Holmes is willing to play the "D", they will be tough. They played some "D" against St. X and won. If they had played half as much "D" the night before, they would have beaten Johnson Central easily. If Holmes is going to win the Ninth, heck even the 35 district, they will need to learn they have to play both ends of the court all the time. Can they do that? Only time will tell....

 

Many of the Holmes parents, and fans that I spoke to during the St. X game at LexCth, are hoping that Jefferson comes back and plays, but to a person, they don't want him to come back, if he has any chance to hurt himself at all. All felt that his future at UK was much more important than any basketball game. One fan even pointed out about Mike Hester coming back too soon, as an example with his injury....

I know what you mean about coming back too soon. I hope our Stenzel didn't come back too soon. Jones will be out till the 16th...don't want him to come back too soon either. We can take our licks..need everyone healthy for post season.

I think the difference is going to be GRC without Jones. Rice is very quick inside for Holmes. He is a deadly shooter out to 10'. I think Hill and Knowles will get their points. Holmes has a very athletic bench as does GRC.
