  1. Show me where I bop around "sniping" at UL and taking gratuitous shots at them.
  2. Again, you act as if it was solely the UK fans talking about him. Look at the poll of Heisman voters conducted by the AP before the Miss. St. game -- he was a solid Top 3 candidate. I know you're bitter about UL's performance this year but sniping at Woodson as if he is a bum propped up by the UK Fans is ridiculous.
  3. Committee of Bob, Phil C., Dickie Williams, Wayne, Dusty, Advisors, etc. The buck stops on Bob's desk....period.
  4. They just paid Alou about $8 million dollars...me thinks he'll be starting in LF.
  5. I don't think, after not having played it for a few years and getting thicker in the meantime, he could be a top-flight defensive SS anymore. Just my opinion, Minaya / Randolph may feel differently.
  6. If the Reds are in a position to have $2 million dollar back-ups than they have come a long way in a short time. Therefore, I agree with you.
  7. I was carrying one, he ended up wearing it. However he had 5 or 6 friends so I wasn't waiting around for a fair fight. Good memory though. :thumb:
  8. Mets. If he comes to the Reds....forget it....there is less than zero chance. I believe he'll go to the Mets, not have to move (his residence), and will play 3B. As was said above, I see David Wright going to 2B or a corner OF position.
  9. College type bar, primarily UC and XU kids, and I was 24 and living in Hyde Park. What is hard to understand?
  10. Are you just being difficult because we've had this freaking conversation 52 times. No, the solution is to find consistent right-handed production from 1B and 3B, and then a consistent RH out-fielder to be productive in a platoon with either Jay or Josh. If they pay for Junior to leave and Votto is part of that deal, Cantu / Hatteberg will be at 1B and Hopper / Freel will play every-day with Hamilton in RF until May 1 when he hits the DL. That will give Bruce his first taste. If Cantu falls on his face than Eddie will move to 1B and they'll find a stick to play 3B from the right-hand side. Again, we've had this conversation, are you just looking to debate for enjoyment?
  11. It was the Brickyard in O'Bryonville. It ended poorly for the young man but my date (a long time ago) was impressed.
  12. Man, you make this too easy. You're comparing the production from Dunn, Griffey, Hamilton and Votto / Hatteberg to that from E-5, Phillips, Gonzo and Ross? A good left-hander starter neutralizes this team...the Reds know it. You choosing to act as if it isn't a big deal is fine; however, the Reds think it is.
  13. See post #25, that is the point. With Dunn, Griffey, Hamilton, Bruce, Votto, Hatteberg...they are just very left-handed.
  14. Here is Marty's take in July. As I said then, Dunn would be back. I was told, not just by Stark, but mostly by others, that they'd trust Marty's word over mine. Oh well....
  15. If you think Wayne is pulling any of these strings you are naive...and I know you're not. He is as out of favor as he can be and is regarded as nothing more than a glorified scout with no people skills.
  16. Hatteberg's signing tells me they have something for Votto in the hopper (no pun intended). I said a month or so ago that the Reds were actively shopping Hamilton or Votto...they feel the team is too left-handed and that they can get value for these two. I also think the Reds will be willing to pay nearly all (if not all) of Junior's salary to package him in as well. This is his last year in Cincy and the sooner they can extricate him from the clubby the better off they are. The plan today is for Bruce to open the season in Louisville, however, if Hamilton AND Junior are dealt I guess that speeds up. I still think (sick of hearing this) that the Opening Day 2009 line-up has Dunn, Bruce and Hamilton in it. I really think Votto is on the way out.
  17. They are going to, IMHO, be close to a straight platoon, therefore, Hatteberg's AB's versus righties will go to...wait for it....Votto.
  18. Could be. They are going to be filthy this year and better next. :thumb:
  19. Never, and I mean never, have I had a sweater tied around my neck. In fact, I once got tossed from an establishment because a guy looking like that told me "my kind" wasn't welcome there. I had on my usual weekend attire, boots, jeans, t-shirt, and ball-cap. Not my look -- not even a little.
