Newsflash: Vince Young stinks

Hmm? Is it a coincidence that neither of us have a dog in this fight? -

Vince Young = 6 out of 50 I'll use that as ammunition, combined with his horriffic numbers, to tell me that he isn't a "build your team around" kind of QB. Just isn't. -

We'll have to simply disagree on this one S.M....:thumb: -

Given what he has done for that organization, you truly believe he got that 4 year extension at $13 per because he had a high batting average in his walk year? I disagree, as I said above, everyone (Cashman and Hank included) know that statistically he won't live up to this deal over the next Presidential Term -- I think his batting average last year made it easier for them, but I think it had little to no impact on the figure. -

If Brian Cashman is giving out deals based more on what they've done than on what you expect them to do than I'm shocked. -
I think it is one of those out-of-the-ordinary Saturday games for The Cards. 8:00 pm if I'm not mistaken.

South Florida, but I'd expect UL to cover. 6.5 before you ask.

Most believe the Rangers will sign Torii Hunter. Lowell will stay with the Sawx. A-Rod, as 98 put it, is not the same body-type he was when he was a SS. Boy is thick. Posada deserved it from the standpoint he has been a good soldier and a key part of a lot of success. However, he won't get close to backing that up with "statistical" value over the life of it. Maybe they don't care. Maybe they think the value you can't track in the box-score is more important. Maybe he has pictures of Hank. Not sure which, I'm leaning on mainly B with a little A. -
Are you just being argumentative because you're bored? I wasn't trying to make some Earth stopping revalation here. They are the only BCS school playing football within this market, right? That would, by default, make them the pre-eminent college football team in the market, right? This is a town that loves its football, H.S., college (although UK, UL, ND, and OSU get most of the attention) and of course the Bengals. The Bengals aren't going to be relevant in January, so if the market's only BCS team can still be relevant nationally at that point it would give a lot of casual football fans something to follow. Again, it was an off-the-cuff comment; I think it'd be good for the football fans in the area to have a tie-in to a BCS game. No more, no less.

Football playoffs: The old system
h.s.sportsrbest replied to The Scribe's topic in KY Football (High School)
Well done. :thumb: -
I think given the stinkiness surrounding PBS, UC making it to a BCS game would generate a lot of buzz in the region. It can't be a bad thing to have the City's pre-eminent College Football team relevant into January, can it?

Oh, good. Ohio plays a lot of the D-1 games on Saturdays; good that it is Friday night. I guess HHS / CCH is the 2nd biggest game in town on Friday. Good for UC, two sell-outs in two days at Nippert -- that has to be a record.
-
Is this game Saturday? I thought Colerain / St. Xavier was at Nippert on Saturday? Where are my wires crossed?

Ohio State/Michigan predictions
h.s.sportsrbest replied to buzzer beater's topic in College Football
I'm not a fan of either squad, not by a long-shot, but I expect to see a Michigan win this Saturday. Tressel is going to have to do a lot of work this week to get those kids back together after that deflating loss last week. Greatest rivalry in College Sports....and I can't stand either. OSU -- 20 Michigan -- 28 -
This gameappears to be as easy to predict as the UC / UCONN game last Saturday. UC has had a really nice season and will have a chance to end it (regular season) on the right note next week. However, I think much has to go their way to have a shot (like USF getting to face WVU's back-up QB in the 2nd half). WVU by 6-10. I do hope UC gets the "W", I think them being Big East Champs would do much for the city.

Which coach weighs more? Kansas or Notre Dame?
h.s.sportsrbest replied to All Play No Work's topic in College Football
So does the trainer and the get-back coach, but I still think Belichik is the one "responsible." Bill is doing better without Charlie than vice versa, wouldn't you say? Charlie looks like a clown in those sweats. Additionally, his team is playing like that at the moment. -

You can look however you want when you have more jewelry than Sammy Davis. -

Is there anything worse than Charlie Weis, the head freaking coach of Notre Dame, wearing sweats on the side-lines? Is he coaching midget football at the park? That is ridiculous. Can the big 'un not find pants that fit him in Northern Indiana? -
Second Round: Clay County @ Letcher County Central
h.s.sportsrbest replied to gchs_uk9's topic in KY Football (High School)
Shouldn't that have meant Clay Co. would have lost in the first round? -
Anyone know how Charlie Weis' tenure at ND looks compared to Ty Willingham's through the same number of games? :sssh:

Second Round: Ryle @ Boone County
h.s.sportsrbest replied to gchs_uk9's topic in KY Football (High School)
Having had a birds' eye view of the last meeting, the game had a feeling of being far more one-sided than the OT would lead you to believe. I think Boone has seen Ryle's best, and this year, it isn't enough. Boone Co. by 7 - 10. -
Second Round: Rockcastle County @ Bell County

Rockcastle Co. 7 Bell Co. 23 Not as close as the score would indicate.
