1. CovCath....How can you not make them #1. They beat everybody they played in Kentucky...

2. The team from Ft. Thomas....Simply put, they would have done what CovCath did, if they had beaten CovCath...

3. Johnson Central....Because if they had played LexCath, they would have killed the clock with the way they run the ball...

4. LexCath....If they had a "D" WOW.....Great, and wonderful "O" some of the best athletes I have seen all year....That is on the "O" side of the ball..

5. Bowling Green....The D1 coaches seem to like their players......

1. CovCath - Beat #2, #3, #4, and #6 in championship run.

2. LexCath - 7 point playoff loss to CovCath. Scary good offense.

3. Highlands - Typical, solid Bird team.

4. Johnson Central - Led CovCath at half, injury to fullback probably distorted final score.

5. Franklin County - Two slugfests with LeCath.

6. Bowling Green - One dimensional offense. Except for one guy, small on both lines.

7. Central - Played BG tough.

8. Rockcastle - Had a good season.

9. East Jessamine - Being in region with LexCath, Franklin is no picnic.

10. Ashland - Made a nice showing against JC second time.

You could probably take 4 - 7 in any order though.

1. Cov Cath- Clearly the top team in AAA with wins over Highlands twice, Johnson Central, LexCath, and Bowling Green. Undefeated in KY

2. Highlands-Watched CCH beat them twice and never felt comfortable, it just seems that with Dale at the helm and their talent they are always dangerous

3. LexCath-CCH learned a little something about how not to manage a clock, and the fact that you don't get into a track meet with a team that thrives on track meets

4. Johnson Central- Very good one dimensional team, when they compliment there running game with a passing game watchout

5. Bowling Green- Honestly was not impressed, but it could have just been a bad night for the purples as they had many turnovers.

#1 Covington Catholic- simply the best.

#2 Lexington Catholic- some of the best athletes in the state, very hard to defend speed.

#3 Johnson Central- very hard hitting, great running game, great fan support.

#4 Highlands- tradition, tough schedule, smashmouth at it's best.

#5 Bowling Green- alot of talent , best of the west.

I would have loved to have seen a game between #3 and #4.

#1 and #2 were just a notch above everybody else.

#1 Cov Cath. There can be no argument.

#2 Highlands. Far superior defense compared to Lex Cath, just as good as LC on O, just a different style of O.

#3 Lex Cath. Excellent team speed and skill players.

#4 Johnson Central. Definitely a good team but not as good as 1,2&3.

#5 Bowling Green. Just not as good as in past years.

It is a shame that the top 3 teams in 3A had to be in the same half of the bracket.

That would be top four by your list if your counting half the state bracket. Top three in region.

Not to be picky, but I wouldn't consider Highlands "smashmouth" While their ground attack is incredible, I would consider it more finesse (based on speed rather than size), whereas JC's rush attack was the traditional smashmouth.

As for me, I will take........
