I love the "Roman Empire" references. How is that empire doing these days?

Wouldn't be great if Barnhart introduced Hobbs as the interim head coach. Then he could go on to build the case that best canidate was already part of the family. Hobbs does have a history of winning games in SEC (never mind the ones he lost). It wouldn't be any more of a downer than the Brooks hire was at the time.

I guess the bottom line is that it was a crock. I doubt any contracts were drawn up when both Barnhart and Donovan report that they didn't even talk until this morning.:thumb:

I've had a few jobs that made a ton of money and a few that didn't. I would rate some of the lower paying ones some of the best. So I guess its a matter of whats important to you.:thumb:

What this thread needs is a classic Fletch post featuring all the "my sources tell me" and "its a done deal" posts.

I agree. In fact I just passed by UofL on southbound I65 and saw a brand new UK football billboard. I wonder why he would spend that money to show he doesn't care.

In my opinion some will stay and some will go. UF won't be as good, but will be pretty good next year with or without Donovan.

I'd have to say that you are way off the mark on this one. UK values the Louisville fan base. Barnhart has worked very hard to reach out to Louisville area fans.

Yet Billy says in this morning's paper that he has yet to be contacted. He is telling the "truth" if you are right and the contact has been between his agent and UK but it sure isn't exactly honest. After all this is over I hope the UK faithful drop the Coach Petrino bashing and realize that is the way business is done these days. Sad but true. I wonder if Billy has talked to his agent, that has talked to UK? Pretty slippery slope in the honesty department. JMO, of course.

I could care less if Donovan comes or goes, but this "sources" and "respected posters" stuff is a joke. So will you lose all respect for them if there is no press conference today or tomorrow? How many of those guys you mention can pick up a phone and call Donovan? Or even Barnhart? I bet Vitale can. Or Bilas, Or Pitino. Etc. The fact is there are no posters on this site with "inside sources". Get real.

UF has scheduled a "Victory Celebration" for Friday in Gainesville. I wonder who the guest of honor will be if Billy is leaving for UK on Wednesday? You guys crack me up. Your sources? some guy at the bank says, etc.
