You are the dumbest, smart kid I have ever met.

Son from the neck down your the best player in the state. From the neck up your the worst.

I heard a well-known former HS & college coach refer to a 6'9'' freshman as "worthless as a (passing of gas) in windstorm". Thus rendering the next 5 minutes of the meeting useless as the team was all in tears from laughing!!

Heard a coach once tell an official one time during the game that the call was so unbelievable that he(the coach) thought it ought to go down into the Hall of Fame of Terrible calls.

I had a coach tell a player to transfer to Tollesboro (year after they closed) because he heard that had a great team that year..

A coach once recognized one of his players in a team huddle....son you lead the state in rebounding opportunities:laugh:

I heard a coach say...

Son, you are the best shooter in the state....... Just not the best maker!

The best story and I am repeating, was the coach who told his player to go and guard the ref. The ref asked him what he was doing and the player told the ref that the coach said to guard you. The player wouldnt' quit, so the ref called a T. The ref then went to the coach and asked him what he was doing, and the coach said, "I told him to guard you because you were the only one beating us!"

Jim Valvano has the all time greatest line in basketball -

In the middle of his run to the NCAA championship with NC State, he calls time out during one game in the tournament, and instead of going to the huddle to talk to his team, he approaches the ref:

Valvano: "Can you give me a technical foul for what I'm thinking?"

Ref: "Come on Coach - you know I can't T you up for what you're thinking".

Valvano: "GREAT - cause I think you suck".

Absolute classic.

one of the best stories I have heard.:jump:

"Son, your so slow...you couldn't run out of sight in a day"

(quoted to an Umpire, whom liked to fish).... "Put the Rulebook in a can of worms, so he can read it sometime"

(player to Coach).... "I'm trying to throw strikes but the Umpire isn't giving me anything (reply from coach).... "I don't blame him, the pitches have to be over the plate, not near it"

"I've coached you for 4 years and I must have done a pitiful job, because you get worse every year"

(coach to player).... "You like Baseball don't you son (reply from player).... "Yes, I do coach" (reply back from coach).... "You should concentrate on Baseball then, because you can't dribble, shoot, jump or pass"

"Have you ever once imagined, what it's actually feels like, to field a groundball"

(my all-time favorite, for personal reasons).... "What do you mean, he's not warmed up yet....Tell him to get out of the bullpen, there is chocolate milk and ho-ho's on the mound, whenever he's ready"

:D .....I will have more later and many, many more....I can't get past the word filter.

I love this one. I have had a good laugh on this one. It is so true sometimes.
