Another coach here in Carter Co had brought up a freshman to play varsity ball after a couple of injuries. Right before the game the coach had the team huddled around him and was going over plays "1" and "2". He looked up and the freshman was bugeyed with all the people and the band playing and the coach looked at him and said, "Son, do you know what 1 and 2 are?" The kid looked at him and said, "Yes sir, 3!"

Once heard a former high school baseball coach during a sports banquet speech comment on his teams season record of 2-21 saying he was thankful for two things during the season, 1. Coach was thankful one win was against a school who started a girl as catcher and 2. he was thankful the second win came against a school who just restarted their baseball program after a 7 year absence.
