In this day and age "kids from nowhere" are few and far between. The kids with lots of stars usually have talent, sometimes they don't live up to it. Some other kids become talents later on, but it doesn't happen as often as one might think.

You missed my point. His college choice makes for great discussion and speculation. I think his only D1 choice was UofL for obvious reasons. That is no longer true. He has been recruited by a few teams with Jacksonville State at the top for some time (first team to show real interest). My problem with your posts had to do with your comments about skipping college and becoming a pro scout or asst. coach because of his "Daddys money". My guess is that if he is looking to play ball its Jacksonville State. If he is looking to just be around a higher profile team its some D1 school as a walk-on. He has shown interest in both senarios.

How about it, though, it seemed to touch a nerve with my friend LSURock- At Trinity's banquet did Petrino's dad or mother mention college choices? Care to answer this simple question? No. No. And no. Simple enough for you?

Tickets to Trinity's football banquet are available to friends and family members (you are neither but I'll put in a good word for you). That way maybe you can get over your obsession with the football banquet. I think I know what you are getting at and its pretty petty on your part IMO. Obvious answer, Nick Petrino. The answer that will become obvious, a tie between Dane Spoelker and Kyle Flynn. The one I'll miss.... Ricky Miller. The kid did everything he was asked to do and volunteered to do everything else.

Two time 4A championship MVP. One in 05 in the win over St.X. One in 06 in the win over Ryle. FYI, everyone is "unsigned" at this point. I heard Nick was "leaning" toward attending UofL and walking on. This isn't really as good an option since his family has moved to Atlanta. I'm sure that Jacksonville State is still an attractive option. I'm sure he will check out other options in the Atlanta area. FYI, I think its pretty boorish to come on here and suggest that Nick would opt out of attending college because his "Daddy" is rich. Plenty of rich kids go to college. I would think that you X guys would be familiar with Nick's drive, desire and competitive nature. He will compete somewhere.

I started to make a comment to Coach with "Coach, I was thinking...". He cut me off and said "don't do it son, everytime you think the team gets dumber".

Some things I've noticed about Trinity this season. First, the Rocks have no ball handlers. We can't stall with a lead (a sound principle in the past) because we will turn the ball over. Second, the Rocks are terrible from the line. I don't follow the stat lines well enough to post this as a fact. But I've been to many games that we couldn't buy a free throw, and not just the big guys. Third, a number of our guys have a shot that they have a comfort level with and really struggle if they are made to do otherwise. Chambliss can catch and shoot with the best from beyond the arc. If he is made to shoot off the dribble he struggles. All others have similar stories. If I had to pick one fault... ball handling. This has been going on for two years now.

I heard Coach Glaser state that the Tigers were already hard at it over a week ago. I'm pretty sure the Rocks have started preparations for anoter title run. What about everyone else? Have you started already? If not, when? What do you have your kids doing at this point?

How can you get people to sit in their seats for 6 hours in a year that you didn't win state? In those non-title years the banquet is usually like the lightning round.

I'm sure I would set a record if those records were kept. I am looking forward to attending a game in your new venue. However, I'm sure I won't be able to duplicate my view from the endzone fence that I enjoyed at Historic Manual Stadium.

It is pretty loosely enforced. They don't allow anyone in the upper deck.

X will have the best overall facility no doubt. Did they build a new football locker room and weight room as well?

Maybe you had a bad angle. I'm a legit 6'4", Sam is taller than me. If he isn't 6'5" he is 6'4" and something. I think Sam wants to play TE in college. I really think he would be great on the defensive side of the ball. I think this may be Sam's last season of basketball. Look for him to have a great senior year and then spend all his time getting ready to play football at the next level. I keep telling his Dad to not forget his roots... his Louisiana roots and send Sam down to LSU.:lol:

Final. Trinity wins in a game marred by multiple technicals on the Colts. Jacobs has another double-double.

Trinity will return a number of outstanding O-linemen next season. The one that stands out is Sam Robey. He is listed at 6'5" 230#. He will probably start the football season between 240 and 250. He is a two time AP all-state selection. He lists ND, OSU and UofL as his three favorite potential college choices. He is also a starter on defense.:thumb:

Brad gave the Rocks their best chance in 04. If Brad would have had a serious injury he would have likely been backed up by Eric Senn. Brad did a fine job at QB during a difficult season. Dixie's TEAM defeated Trinity's TEAM in the playoffs and the rest is history. I look forward to seeing Brad have some success at WKU this season.:thumb:

Not really. Jeff could go elsewhere (actually several elsewheres) and return in time for Brady to fulfill his destiny.

Mark's Dad is Dennis. Luke's father is named Frank I think. He played at St. Nicholas. LB and O-line.

I for one am not disturbed by what he says. I think its funny in a pathetic kind of way. But you are probably correct in a political sense. In the political arena the rule is if your opponent is commiting suicide, by all means be quiet and allow him to continue. So on a personal level, what do you think about his very public comments andigidy?
