I agree with the bringing in old blood, but it was only 24 months ago that everyone cried they needed new blood, rather than going with another Hauck Disciple. Thompson gave a valiant effort during his tenure, probably stayed a year too long and never had an Evan O'hara type kicker early on. It cost him 7-10 games plus during the Chalfant era. Eric Turner would be the guy that I go after, however I think he has a better chance to win at Lloyd than Boone in the next few years.

I don't get to East LA too often, but I am going to view tonight as a Win-Win. I am heading over after work to support the CRU, if I get shut out at the door, I'll stroll a couple blocks over have some cocktails with Holy Cross legend Todd Clark.

I was surprised they were even holding the event. I have been turned away at the door twice in my life, both have been at Holy Cross and that's getting there in ample time. This will be "Nightmare on Church Street" tonight with the logistics.

It happens in AAU all of the time, but that is a little different. The kids may be playing multiple games throughout a complex, there is no water provided. Plus, they have conditioned this generation not drink after anyone or drink from a community jug, even with disposable cups. I am guilty of doing it, but it was always at halftime.

What will happen first, lights at Covington Catholic or a renovated Rupp arena? We have been hearing both are coming for years now. Not to beat the lack of lights into the ground, what is the current status? Hell, CWB got me to pony up $20 last year to become a premium member to read about the lights at CCH.

Trampled, I think you nailed the candidate with Turner. He has Lloyd going in the right direction, and I agree with Badtimes on being the right hire 2 years ago. At that time, I believe Boone was looking for a clean break from Hauck/Thompson lineage. Be careful what you wish for sometimes.

I had said in a thread about ten months ago, that Jeff Tierney was not coming through those doors, Jeff Nelson was not coming through those doors, Jeff Watts was not coming through those doors. Now, it appears Jeff Griffith will no longer be coming through those doors anymore.

I love to see that Brian Sandlin is back in the 9th region, he calls a great game. He had been in the 8th for several years.

Ron Dawn has been a "Stud" for over three decades, from the intensity, his court side demeanor, the weight lifting, etc... But, I have left the BOK Center now twice in the last 12 months, thinking the man has been out coached by Mr Ruthsatz. The first outing he tried to slow tempo but didn't go inside the entire game. I think Mcdonald only touched the 4-6 times that night. Soft is what comes to my mind on the Friday night game. The good news is both teams have time to make adjustments, hopefully we will be entertained with another round in March!

I would like to see McDonald spend a summer in Coach Ruthsatz's conditioning program, he could be a beast. He will need to do some form of transformation for the next level.

I'm not sure, Andy Flood faceguarded very effectively all night. Was he injured before the game started? I noticed the injury for the first time when the red called time, that was late in the 3rd or the 4th.

Andy Flood definitely got his jump shot from his mother, his dad's attempt to win the Mercedes was lackluster! Had a great time tonight with my son, saw a lot of friends.

I am also a St. Henry parent who agrees with all of the posts that have been written above. I have no explanation or insight for not calling off the press. This team has underachieved a little this year, maybe he was trying to jump start them at mid season, this would not excuse his actions. Coach Sturgeon is a good man, he cares deeply and puts tons of time and effort into teaching these girls. We all have bad days and wish we could have a do over from time to time. I've known the man since kindergarten, who has always shown great character in the four decades of our friendship. It's not fun to be on the end of a blow out. My sons St. Paul's 8th grade team was on the short side on 85-17 beat down from Holmes. Coach Humphery Engolman pressed the entire game and would not call off the dogs. While I was not happy with his actions, I gave him a pass because of the canvas of good he has done for kids over the years. Nobody wants to be "Spurrierized", especially on the high school level. Maybe Paul's head was in a different place on this night. I think he has done really well in his short tenure at St. Henry.

Lethargic is what comes to my mind. You could see the talent there, they start 2 freshman. The point guard and number 22, who had some moves with his back to the basket. They just seemed never to be mentally in the game, the body language on the whole team lacked energy, even when the score was close.

I thought Bo looked very strong last night. The team played well and you can see the chemistry, a little worried when they go up against a team with a big front court. On a kind of funny side note, I was sitting close to the idiot white guy behind the Winton Woods bench, who yelled at Sandlin (the best ref in NKY, imo) for a making a call because he was Catholic. Sandlin thought it was the assistant coach of Winton Woods and t'd him up. I think the fan wanted to crawl into a hole if he could. I am just glad the it had no meaning to the final outcome.

These 2 two teams have had some nice battles over the last couple of years.
