I know JC and Wayne are the favorites on one side. Who are the top four contenders on the other side of the bracket.

Anderson dominated up front on both sides of the ball all night. Anderson had no way to cover/defend Mercer's skill players they just couldn't get the ball in their hands enough. Until Mercer can prove they can compete upfront they need to get all the fullbacks and tight ends out and spread the defense with 4 receivers. Mercer tried too much of loading the box up on offense and trying to play smash mouth but aren't capable up front of doing that. QB was running for his life most of the night but has to see pressure and throw it away. He takes way too many sacks when he just needs to throw it away

Mercer could go either way. They have a lot of young unproven talent. If they step up and play to potential they could be top 5 but also could drop put of top 10 if they don't. They lost 19 seniors and a lot of them were major contributors. They have a lot of good skill players. As always will depend on O-Line and D-Line.

How many games does each team play? When will they announce the schedule of who is playing who?

You are correct that Trevon played but failed to mention he played 1 1/2 qtrs and Mercer was without 2 other starters. Credit to LCA they are going to have a good team this year and can create some matchup problems.

I can tell you it is 100% a concern for parents when you look at a resume like this. There is no way you can look at his resume and think this guy will be at our school long term. History is the best way to interpret future behavior.

Couldn't agree more. A few questions I have and maybe someone more in the know could answer. Did Mercer make any adjustments other than going to a 2-2-1 half court defense halfway thru the 4th Qtr? Did Mercer ever run a play the entire night? In the post above it was said that no other Titan scored in double figures and 10 players played. Was Drakeford sick or hurt? He had 9 in the 1st half against Rockcastle and never played again the rest of the tournament.

Anybody still debating who the best player in the 12th region is or class of 2018?

Everyone being awful quiet about this region tournament. What is the status of Bruner for West's 1st round game?

I think West has a really good coach. Other than the Polson years they have good talent but not great. He always seems to have them playing above expectations. On paper there is no comparison talent wise between these two teams. Coaching, playing hard and playing together can make up for a lot.

Agree with you 1,000% on getting rid of the charge call. It is used too much by the officials. Players rely too much on getting bailed out then staying on their feet playing defense. Player A knows he can't guard player B. Player A's only option is to flop and hope to get bailed out and we have refs that are so bad they can't tell the difference.

I agree with that but are we trying to make it more convenient or making more fair for everyone? If I am a parent or player I would rather look back and say everyone had a equal playing field than it was closer to drive to Lincoln or Pulaski. Rupp is on the line here and you want to make every opportunity count.

Lincoln is at minimum 10-15 points better at home. I can't believe the majority of the coaches in the 12 region agree to have region played at only two sites.

It seemed like Young had 45 points. Does anyone know his stats for this game. I would like to see how many shots he missed. I don't remember more than 1-2. Mercer has a lot of positives but still a lot to figure out. Trevon scores 28 the rest of the team scores 22. He has to have help other guys need to step up.

Wow. I haven't seen SW play yet this year but saw Casey earlier in the year. Casey must have really improved congrats to their coach.

Great win for the Titans. The region tournament will be crazy. SW, Pulaski, Mercer and Lincoln are probably the favorites. Boyle and West could end any of the above teams season in the region tournament. Faulkner and Fitzgerald are really fun to watch head to head as they are both legit D-1 guys that can fill it up.

Agreed that is a great stat line from both of them. I was wrong Mercer played 11 players. Mercer had 6 players, 5 Juniors/Seniors and 1 sophomore that had zero points.

Major red flag that Mercer played 10 players and only 5 players scored. Mercer got 5 points from their bench and Boyle got 24 points from theirs. Lots of upperclassmen on the court for Mercer getting out played by Boyle's two freshmen. Congrats to Boyle for putting together a good game plan and executing it.

I saw Trevon Faulkner get 5 charging fouls down there against Corbin. I have never seen 5 charges on one player in my life. Taylor gets the Jordan treatment by refs in that region.

I agree with everything you are saying. I will still take my chances with the best player in the region and some other solid players. Mercer lacks varsity experience other than Trevon and Gillis but has some other solid players that no one has heard of yet.
