  1. Numbers are an issue with many football programs across the state. It is becoming an epidemic.
  2. Anderson County doesn't have alot of depth.
  3. Didn't really want to get involved in this discussion but I thought I would throw this out. In speaking with a college coach at the UK camp the fastest forty time ran was 4.61. That was straight off the spread sheet of all the participants, now this was a quick glance and we could have overlooked one but he said 4.61 was the fastest he saw listed.
  4. 4.6 is a really good time for high school skill players. When players go below that they become elite. It is also dependent on the kid, body type, position and what not. A 6'2" 205 lb linebacker running 4.6 is different from a 5'8" 150 lb corner back. Shuttle Times are really important, it is really difficult to take a snapshot of a forty time and determine whether a kid can play. There are a lot of 5 flat forty kids in this state that play at that speed and are really good high school football players.
  5. I would agree, there is only one sticking point. Family, his girls go to PT and they love it there.
  6. Try to get a coach in the building at Shelby and see how that works out. That in no way is a reflection on the former AD they try it just is difficult.
  7. Is that sarcasm saying BE is not a better job? I would consider BE a much better job than Shelby County.
  8. Kadin Smith, 6' 180 LB, Junior RB/DB from Spencer County ran 4.6 at UK Saturday as well. Ran for 1254 yards/15 TD's as a Sophomore. Averaged over 14 yards per carry last season.
  9. Their schedule is absolutely brutal, JV schedule might be in their best interest.
  10. Mike is a really good coach. He turned Graves around, then went to Warren Central and beat BG a couple of times. Just couldn't get past the purples. I would say that covers alot of teams. Yes he knew what was coming but everyone did, WC was decimated by the redistricting. Don't know what happened at PT, but I am sure he will land somewhere.
  11. Well that is a very interesting thought. However having read his background you can see that he played for Murray so I am sure that his offensive philosophy will be similar to what they ran at Murray.
  12. Don't know him but know the situation but I am going to go out on a limb and say he will be spread. That is what the parents want!
  13. No technically the coach can be named at any time. It is a classified position meaning the there is no need for the 30 day hiring window.
  14. The EPSB is a mess. Had someone who has a MAT in Special Ed from Liberty university but the EPSB wouldn't recognize it, they wanted them to take classes from a KY institution. Once he got the classes from Univ. of Cumberlands we looked at his transcript and the classes were basically the same thing. Now I am no conspiracy theorist but I wondered if Liberty University was in KY would they have recognized his classes. Completed classes and passed praxis and KY said no on certificate.
  15. Look the bottom line is if a kid and his parents want to relocate to Taylor county and enroll for athletic purposes the KHSAA has no choice but to rule them eligible. Now I think everyone knows what is going on behind the scenes, but knowing it and having the proof is something entirely different.
  16. Look at it like this was there another team in the state that was picked last in their district (a 5 team district) so in essence picked to not make the playoffs. Then are dominant on their way to the state semifinals losing to the eventual state champ. When you look at it that way how can they not get an A.
  17. It is all about the $$$$$$! Who owns Spalding? You can rest assured they would never let the football coaches use their ball of choice (overwhelmingly Wilson) and have the basketball guys use a ball they considered subpar!
  18. Ding, Ding! Wait until they are sitting 0-4 after September 9th! The implosion will be in full affect by then!
  19. No, don't believe I am he resigned before spring practice for a reason. Anyway apparently everyone in PT land is happy which is great the honeymoon period is always great but when they hit rough waters lets see how it plays out.
  20. So to get this straight they weren't allowed to participate before the coaching change and then Randy gets a position on the staff and they are allowed to participate. This is why this thing could implode!
  21. So they had spring practice? Were the track kids participating?
  22. Hard to judge numbers during spring practice. With the skill players playing baseball and running track it can be deceiving.
  23. Those are two really good ones there! They would get my vote!
