  1. Sorry hate to hear that. Lol
  2. Just a great high school basketball game! The 30th district is a balanced district and Coach Burns is building a program at Spencer. The future of that program is very bright! Congrats to coach Drury and the Bearcats their kids battled and they made plays down the stretch.
  3. From experience the child was ruled eligible immediately.
  4. They are interviewing. The former coach left his teaching job so that gives them that position to fill in the building. I think the hire will happen in a pretty timely manner.
  5. I will take Bardstown in the 5th.
  6. Marion is in the process of hiring their coach. They do care and they will make a great hire.
  7. Some AD's know basektball, some know football etc., as stated earlier if you have a good AD he has resources to reach out to friends that he has in the business that he can lean on to make a hire.
  8. I just think it is difficult with multiple members to get everyone on the same page. You get too many agendas in the room, I just think the best case scenario is to involve the AD, Principal, AP and maybe one faculty member and make the hire. I am just totally against committees with parents, friends of the program it just makes it tough to get consensus. I also think that if you are going to talk to other head coaches you need to be able to insure that the conversations are protected. There are multiple ways to make a hire I think some administrators go through so many other hiring processes in hiring teachers, hiring a coach is just not something they are interested in.
  9. If I walked into an interview with 8 members I am not taking the job. Too many agendas in the room, you would be hired and have some in the room against you from your introductory news conference.
  10. AD, Principal, AP is enough for me, this keeps the process under wraps which is critical. With a committee tough to get everyone on the same page and it just creates issues when issues arise. I just think that an AD should know the direction they want and I think if they are attentive they see people that they think may fit their programs. After that hopefully the AD has resources to reach out to people to bounce names off of. If the AD takes his/her job seriously and they have a district that does things the proper way the process should be pretty smooth. Of course after the selection you need SBDM approval before announcing publicly.
  11. First off screw the committee, that is where this whole process goes off the tracks. I think a good AD knows the direction that he/she needs to go and if they have a supportive administration they just need to put their heads together and do their due diligence and pull the trigger. Also I am not for sure you need to adhere to the 30 day window to make a hire. Football coach is a classified position pretty sure there need not be a 30 day wait. Someone correct me if I am wrong, I think the certified positions need the 30 day time frame.
  12. I would venture a guess be a hire within the 4-6 weeks. The teaching position is open due to the coach going to his new job and I think they want to get someone in there to have spring practice. That is the plan but we know sometimes they don't work out.
  13. It is a tough gig! They need to get out of Sanders way and let him run the program the way he sees fit. The administration will have to be supportive and have the coaches back. I am sure he will have a philosophical change from the past and that has not always been accepted by the old BE guard! I think it is a fantastic hire!
  14. By your handle I can assume you are a player or former player. The first thing you can thank Morris for is putting a schedule together that allowed that program to win games. He knew they would win a few games in 2013 he just thought the opportunity at Henderson as OC was better than beating his head against a wall at McLean. I don't know if he would be successful or not but to bash him for his offense when you have no idea of the inner workings of that program is ridiculous. Again there will be no John Edge's or Chuck Smith's applying this time so I am curious as to what the administration has in store.
  15. I am not for sure the applicant pool will be as deep as it was last time.
  16. There are a lot of things that go into being a head coach. i wouldn't really judge Morris on his year at Mclean. If you understood anything about the mess he inherited you would understand. Coaches think they can fix anything and he went in and cleaned a few things up and most importantly got their schedule right. Morris can coach, now I don't know if he will get the job but he understands football and he will get another chance at another school and will be successful.
  17. What are the coaches views on inter district. The few that I know do not want the inter district playoffs. It is strange that it would be termed a done deal.
  18. There are other Henderson County Alums who have family still there who would probably want to come home. Plus have been successful at multiple stops!
  19. I think they will have some pretty good applicants apply. I don't think going for a coach with one year experience is the answer.
  20. Lowest 32 in 1A, Highest 32 in 6A. Then work out 2A-5A, I believe they are going to go away from the playing up or down and put everyone in the proper classifications. I expect there to be dramatic changes.
  21. Lets see how these parents respond when a coach comes in and holds them accountable! I am sure it will be the coaches fault for being too hard!
  22. See you are not reading the posts I said I didn't know if he was because I haven't seen everyone play. I just said he is a heck of a back! I stand by that!
  23. At one point I saw a tweet from Jason Frakes that 118 ballots received and only 6 or 8 were from Jefferson County or something like that.
