  1. This is only the beginning. This situation will get bad!
  2. Who is the super's boss? The board!
  3. Injuries play a big role in HS sports. In their offense the QB is critical and they are now on their 3rd QB. That is tough for any team. BE will be fine!
  4. I think you could put Collins, North Oldham, Shelby County or Spencer in there and who could argue. Yes I know the view that Collins and North are far superior to Spencer and Shelby but who really knows. All are 2-0, all have pretty convincing wins. The good thing is it all gets to play itself out!
  5. Yes, heaven forbid Spencer County ever have a good football team. Tommy you call out Spencer County and base that on what?
  6. State Champ will come from the west. SW defense will give up very few points. I am going with the Spartans!
  7. Spencer struggled to stop the Nelson rush attack in the first half. The score was 20-20 at half. The Spencer run game took over in the second half and the got multiple stops of the Nelson offense. Spencer had 446 yards rushing including 213 for Holbrook. Lead was extended to 55-20 before Nelson added a score late.
  8. I will still say games are won up front in the trenches but I understand you thought process and wont argue against it too much. Just out of curiosity what offense is Woodford running. With limited skill players and huge line you would think they would be a power running team maybe the bone or something and just mash people and run straight ahead. However I have not seen them play just curious what they are doing offensively.
  9. Larue is really young and has a lot of building to do. They will struggle to win a couple of games.
  10. The staff at Woodford has gotten a lot of good publicity. Now the coaching begins, this is a bad loss. Lets see how all parties respond.
  11. I agree that is why I say they are a team to watch. 4A east is definitely the place to be, I think Taylor will be able to show improvement in that side of 4A.
  12. The team to watch in 4A East is.........Taylor County. I know there will be snickers and some gasps but Dudley will win there.
  13. That is inaccurate, the students are allowed on campus for academic purposes only. Coaches are not restricted, I would bet that most coaches get their vacations in and then they are back in the office. In some instances fields need to be taken care of and preparation for the beginning of practice.
  14. If he is a coach on the staff and Current Belfry players are there it is a violation. If he is holding a youth camp and no high school players are attending or working I think it would be ok.
  15. You are absolutely correct on two fronts. Spencer should have beaten Shelby last year but when you give up 29 points on special teams you will lose. Secondly they have to get better QB play their QB played well in their win over North Oldham, but played poorly in their loss to Collins and their loss to Henry to close the season out. Spencer has a ton of returning players, Holbrook returns for his senior season after running for 1400 yards and 21 TD's, Sophomore Kadin Smith returns after closing out his freshman season with an 84 yard rushing effort against Doss. Spencer must replace 2 offensive lineman and probably the biggest loss #17 Kynan Smith at WR. Although they don't throw it a lot he had 30 receptions last season. Defensively they have 7 starters returning but without a doubt getting Junior #22 Hunter Brown back will be huge. They lost him to a knee injury in the North Oldham game and he was out for the year. He is their best defender and extremely disruptive and makes plays all over the field. They also have Junior Running Back/DB # 23 Branden Leff returning, he was averaging over 10 yards per carry when he went down with a broken ankle and missed the second half of the year. Branden in one of the better CB's in the area. Spencer County has upgraded their schedule and has a lot of pieces returning. Their backfield is extremely talented with 3 outstanding running backs that can do damage. They always play solid defense and if the QB play improves marginally and those backs stay healthy Spencer County will have a say in the district race. Both Collins and Franklin visit Spencer and that is no easy place to play. The district race should be interesting there will be a very good team left out of the playoffs. Should be an exciting year for all the teams.
  16. They can have full practices and compete against other teams with no limitations. Go figure!
  17. I wouldn't sleep on Taylor county. Dudley does not lose, the off season getting their minds right. The fact that he is back serves notice, he thinks he can win. TC will be a player in the district title race.
  18. Bakers numbers are unreal. Riley Hall is a player the kid is a winner, glad to see he performed well.
  19. Yep that is why he was in the opening and I specifically said combine.
  20. Appears the highest rated KY kid who performed at the combine was Holbrook from Spencer County.
  21. I believe that Shelby and North Oldham graduated a lot but their coaches will always be developing talent. Collins and Spencer have most of their starters returning. Franklin is the wild card, not sure what they have. Excited to see how it all plays out.
  22. The question is will his talented 8th grader Walker be going with him. I would assume he would be.
