After two years at Paducah Tilghman, Mike Rogers has stepped down as varsity football coach. Rogers said Friday night this decision was personal. He said it had nothing to do with his relationship with his players or school administrators. Rogers added he is not leaving for another coaching position at this time, although he expects he'll coach again sometime in the future.

 

"If he decides to coach again, he'd get a top recommendation from me," Paducah Tilghman principal Art Davis said. "He did an excellent job for us."

 

In his two seasons with Tilghman, Rogers led the Blue Tornado to a 15-10 overall record. Tilghman made the KHSAA Class 3A Region 1 championship game in 2014.

 

Davis says he hopes to have a new coach in place within the next two-to-three weeks.
