I would have to think...... no it is not.

A question for Mayfield fans: Clearly, Mayfield has a great staff. Historically, do assistant coaches from Mayfield become head coaches at other schools? I would think that they would certainly be qualified if they were of a mind to want to become a head coach.

The bigger question is " do you roll those dice and leave being a part of a Dynasty for the risk of getting in a mess somewhere else"...the old bird in the hand theory (no pun intended). If you are really young, yes. if you have been around a few years...no.

Yes, we have had a good many former players and coaches become head coaches. Off the top of my head. Joe Prince who recently left Owensboro, Head is the skipper at Christian County, Lawson was recently the boss at Calloway County. David Morris at Mercer awhile back. We also had Tony Franklin on staff for a bit before he became famous but he is from Caldwell County. I just thought that some might find that interesting
TP,

I thought Russellville's head man was a Mayfield guy. Did I get that wrong? I know even though the Panther's never really got over the Mayfield hump (join the crowd) that they always played them as tough as anyone.

Coach Myers at Russellville was on the Mayfield staff much like Tony Franklin but he is not from Mayfield. Myers, in my opinion, is one of the best in the state. He gets a lot out of his kids

At this time I would be surprised to see a Mayfield staffer take that job

I am really pulling for Russellville in 1A next year. I think they could win it all!

No Mayfield assistant is leaving to take the PT job. They've got it too good in Mayberry.

Many years back, Mike Rodgers as an assistant at Nelson county along side Lance gregory, could it be possible for mike Rodgers to return to graves county again and work alongside gregory as an assistant???

When was Lance at Nelson? I was unaware he was ever at Nelson. He was at John before getting the Graves job.

I don't think they have coached together. Graves people don't even know their own coaches.

I think they did coach together at one point but my memory is getting worse as I age and could be wrong

They did not coach together, they both coached under Mark Brown. Mike at Nelson and Lance at John Hardin.

Mike Rodgers & Lance gregory BOTH where assistant coaches under mark brown at Nelson co..
