Completely agree with you RAM, in fact some would say learning outside the classroom is more valuable at times.

Chief, Firmly believe that this is happening. Reasons are multiple: 1. I think the win now mentality that goes on at college and pros. 2. I feel that the lack of support is a problem. What it takes to be successful, coaches in the building, time to develop a program. Look at the coaches that just played in the state finals and you will notice MOST have long tenures at their current school, or at least have been in that position for awhile. Look at Coach Haywood at Belfry and his assistants. They have been there forever and their program has been building for years. Coach McKee has been building it at Scott Co. for 17 years. I think this is important an so many old time coaches were hired to coach and teach and they had to coach many sports and were a staple in the community. Now coaches move around so much it is ridiculous. 3. Football like all high school athletics requires so much sacrifice that some coaches and players don't have that ability to do the JOB the way it needs to be done. Football has become year round, or almost year round especially if you do not have in school weights. 4. On the money issue, the disparity across this state is wide spread for head coaches but the big issue is assistant pay. Some of the schools I polled several years ago, the pay is way low compared to some programs. Also go out of state and you will see especially in the south are way different. I would hope people understand that not everyone is going to be a champion and look at the body of work not just win/losses when it comes to these head coaches. Can we look at the difference the coach is making in a young mans life or have we become a win at all cost society. I feel the later is becoming more popular.

No way Chris Wolfe would leave all the talent he has coming back next 2 years. they are going to be extremely good. I could be wrong but they are going to be tough to beat next year and after beating the big dogs this year in the district he will be ready to do it again next year.

As for scheduling, a lot of the teams they beat bad were young this year, so next year when those kids have a year or so under their belt of varsity play and Scott Co. is trying to reload from graduation it may not be the same. I think the schedule is fine.

TANK I have plenty of clue, and if you will read Sandman's post and my previous post you will understand what I am talking about or maybe you have know UNDERSTANDING of how it works in public schools now a days. Good ole boy networks are not going to work there.

Woolf has applied for a lot more than one job and he has not been selected for any of them. He may be the front runner but not the man I think that can right the ship. JMO

Problem with this job will be teaching jobs. Will they open them up to get the right coach in place. Only 2 coaches on current staff in building has to be an issue, especially if neither of those guys are on the staff. They are both tenured so where do u get help from. They will hire a coach who can teach, Warner did not teach so this is a big problem. Best of luck. Oh and doubt anyone with PE degree have a shot. Maybe all these dads can take over since the people in Union know everything about football. Now I agree a change may have been needed but issues finding a replacement who can bring in coaches will be hard. Just remember that. Turner is by the book so thw Chuck Smith demands Will not happen at Ryle.

Reality is they have beat every team they played, good or bad like they should have. No 2A and 3A opponents on their schedule. They will have to play a great game this week to beat a very good HC team. Bell and Jackson may be the best tandem in the state. Then if they win that one they can worry about who is in Louisville waiting for them. No matter what you have to show up and play. I for one hope they win it all, but we will have to wait and see.

Valley can pull all they want from Farnsley, that does not mean success at the Varsity level.

Dunbar was going in to take the lead the last time they met when they fumbled near the goal line. This game could be closer than people think and if Henry Clay does not get out quickly it could be the shocker of round 2.

No big deal. They gave up 20 points and shut out Clark Co. In 2nd half. Yards dont equal points. So bend dont break is a pretty good deal for these Cards. Besides I think Saban said it best last night. Stats dont tell the whole picture

This is the whole reason behind the system. Small, poor schools will gladly take the split to help their program.

Look at the 1 seeds in the regular season and you will see MANY games where the score was worse than last night

I agree but I will have disagree with the talent in last years senior class. 25 seniors last year. They lost a ton of talent last two years and I think people who know football knew this year would be a struggle for them due to youth. But they team last year should have done better. Also the 2011 and 2012 schedule was brutal. Colerain, Columbus Desales, Highlands, A state championship team in Cooper, Henry Clay. So maybe they were not better than their schedule. A lot of the injuries are due to practice styles as well. You can't beat the heck out of them in practice.
