Clark (2-9) had success throwing the football, especially in the first half, with starting quarterback Luke Sharrock attempting 27-of-51 passes for 330 yards. Despite the large chunk of yardage in the first two quarters, Scott County (11-0) pulled away in final half.

Keith Guy led the charge for the hosts, rushing for 155 yards, including a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to open the second half. Scott County scored the first 28 points of the second half and Clark crossed the goal line twice in the final three minutes for the final margin.

Overall, Sharrock threw for 385 yards for two touchdowns and three interceptions as Clark outgained Scott County 486-367. Sharrock connected on a 3-yard touchdown pass to Khamarkis Blanton with 3:08 remaining in the first quarter to open the scoring. Sharrock’s 45-yard completion to Logan Burchett on the previous play set up Clark’s successful scoring drive.

Sharrock went out briefly in the first quarter after “tweaking” his ankle, but returned and had a career outing.

What I've learned about Clark County / George Rogers Clark: if they have a QB or some type of offensive leader at a skill position: watch out on the field, and fans, be very nice to him because there's a good chance he may be your doctor or surgeon one day.

Our QB Luke Sharrock's brother is a Dr. He too was a great player for GRC. I can see Luke doing the same.

GRC came out in five wide and empty backfield almost 98% of the game. Maybe even every play.

Completely threw SC off balance in the first half. It also didn't help that the defense was on the field almost the entire half, either. They for sure got winded.

SC intercepted the first throw from scrimmage for a TD, then had scoring drives of 2:46, 1:03, :34, :56 in the first half. (Final Time of Possession was 30-18 in favor of GRC.)

But halftime adjustments we're made and GRC only threw for 55 yards in the second half with 30 coming on one play in the third Q.

If SC has one weakness it's in the secondary, but so far nobody they've played has been able to slow down their offense or stop them from making plays in special teams - had a KR for TD, blocked punt and blocked XP.

A rematch with Bryan Station and their passing attack might be able to test SC and if BS can make a few stops on defense then it could be a game next week.

Also big kudos to the GRC QB Sharrock - he made a bunch of great throws, and is tough as nails. Kid has taken a beating this year but got back up every play.

His WR made some great catches too. They physically out-manned SC's secondary for most of the first half too.

Clark County's Luke Sharrock threw 63 passes (36 completions) in 63-34 loss to Scott County. The state record is 68 pass attempts.

I think the WR you are referring to is either Stoneking or Blanton. They have been outstanding this year.

Luke Sharrock is a great kid on and off the field and a 3 sarter athlete, b-ball and baseball. Taught at GRC with his mother, great family.

Yep. That comment was basically a nod to the Sharrock family. I'm sure there are other families too though.

I have said this before.

Scott County’s defense may keep them from winning a state title. They give up way too many yards to be a championship team.

No big deal. They gave up 20 points and shut out Clark Co. In 2nd half. Yards dont equal points. So bend dont break is a pretty good deal for these Cards. Besides I think Saban said it best last night. Stats dont tell the whole picture
