I don't like to here the word financially sustainable, that is a joke. I remember in the 80's and 90's when some of those teams like Greenup and Boyd played in a district with Boone and Campbell and Holmes. That to me is just a cop out. Sure they like the fact they don't have to play highlands and cov. cath. but like someone else said just say that because travel has been a part of the game forever.

I don't understand the rotating of the 6A, I mean you have a west and an east. Now that St. X and Trinity are not in the same district why keep rotating. Why not just play it like everyone else does. And to me if you have to have 3 team district then it is proof we have too many classes. That is a joke. Travel is part of sports, no one complains when basketball and baseball teams travel for all the holiday and spring break tournaments all of over the place. This to me needs to be fixed. You have 32 teams that should be 4 team districts and 8 districts. Move 1 team form district 1 to district 2 move one team from district 3 to district 5 move 1 team from district 4 to district 6 I mean Jeffersontown use to be in a district with Grant Co, that is not much further than any of the teams in NKY. also in 5A you had South Oldham travel to Conner and Cooper and Scott , so it can be done.

Oh I know what you are saying about the money, that is very much true. But that is why he left in the first place was to go coach college ball. Now the one thing about coaching college that I would doubt he would get at GRC is he would have to teach and coach not just coach football and do football all day.

Nice form on the box out, text book and a nice take down in the first one. Kid should have been ejected for sure.

Why would Shadon come back from Wofford to coach at GRC. Would not make much sense to me. I am sure Columbia is wanting it back but someone told me he was at Central office why would he be a candidate. Not a bad job but I would think Corbin, Lincoln, and Warren Central would be better job than GRC

Sad to say not really, it is about average if not below average compared to the past 5 or 6 years. I do believe a lot of high profile jobs have came open this year though.

Wow this would be surprising, I thought he had a good team coming back. Mike has done a good job there, I wonder if this is just rumor.

Stepp is possibly moving into an administrative roll in the school system

Antics or no antics the guy can coach and is a great PERSON to boot. He is a Christian man that does not cuss at his players and quite frankly does not cuss at all and surrounds himself with a staff that is the same way. They push their kids hard and have fun when it is time to have fun but ask anyone and they will tell you losing is never fun. He preaches excellence and to be honest he is quite entertaining to watch on the sidelines. The scary part is he probably knows more about the rules then the refs do and he is always checking them. But Billy gives to his kids, he helps them, he loves to fish, will cut up with you and will also make you toe the line. Some may not like him but heck a bunch of people hated Cal early in the season and now the love him. Just the way it goes. I hope Billy is on the sidelines for a long time to come.

Before the recent alignment Grant played with Anderson, South Oldham and Oldham. Montgomery is close to Harrison Co which was with Highlands and Cov. cath before I agree Fern Creek should be with Bullitt instead of Iroquois. Nelson will be the trick. Where do they go for travel purpose I would think with Bullitts

I agree 100 %. I told someone I loved that every time a sub came in the game whoever was coming out ran off the court and all the way down the bench slapping hands with all players. Coach has created a great culture there and Coach B will be charged with maintaining that culture but if you are correct about the kids and their respect for the assistants then that should not be a problem. This team was great to watch all week as well as their student section.

I hope you are not referring to Billy Hicks. If you have not been to one of his practices you have no clue. He is non stop fundamentals. It is a constant regimen of drill work. He works the kids butts off on fundamentals. Now his antics on the sideline may not set well with others but his record is because he is a great coach of the game. I will agree I saw some bad mistakes by KIDS all week long.

I agree 1000%. Especially was disappointed in the fact the refs were not very good, they seemed to want to make a show. Will say that officiating had nothing to do with the outcome of the finals but still very disappointed in the level of showmanship put on by the crews that called this week. Would call the first four minutes of a quarter different then the last four and would call the game different at the end of the game as they did in the beginning. But all in all it was a very exciting tournament atmosphere. I love the crazies and will say it over and over, a lot of school officials could take some lesson form CCH on school culture. Truly amazing and are to be commended.

I will say that I loved watching them all week. I have seen them at Football and they are just as great. I loved it when the basketball team went to the ropes and raised up the state championship shirts to the crazies in a salute to the support they give. Totally awesome school spirit and the true epitome of what school culture is all about. I think the rest of the states administrators need to look at this model on school culture because it is breath taking to watch. Has to be fun going to school there if you are a kid.

I really like this kid and although I only watched him this week at Rupp he can flat out play. He makes everyone better and you can tell he is a true leader on the floor with his other teammates. I think he could have easily made the list. I guess that maybe not everyone knowing about him hurt his chances, but HEY they know about him now. Congrats to him on an amazing job this season.

Once again a poster not knowing the facts. Long has played basketball for 3 years total. He is only 15, he needs to get in the weight room and get strong and become more explosive. He will improve and he did improve all year long. You can tell by watching him he is awkward in his body. As time and work happens he will develop and be a good player. He totally effected the big kid from Trinity that everyone raved about after the Hoptown game. Rae will be fine. I feel like they did not look at him enough yesterday which could have helped with an inside out game to free up the shooters for Scott Co.

You are so wrong and I can tell you that he will quite the fools that say he is not D-1. He may not be big time D-1 but he can play at that level. Now hats off to Cov. Cath, their kids played with a lot of guts and WON it all today. But to say that the freshman shut him down is not true. He had double team and triple team help at times. Most of the day as soon as he crossed half court someone else was coming. Now Gilbert forced way too much and I was hoping on the last play that Billy would have taken a play out of Christian Co. play book and Trent as a decoy, would have probably got a better shot off. Oh BTW Trent has done this to everyone he has played ALL year in the 11th region and beyond. He just had a bad game and it came at the worst time. Hats off to Cov. Cath and the Scott Co. boys have nothing to hang their heads about, Great job by them all year.

I actually think you have to credit JC for how they showed one thing and then did another on the movement of the ball. I don't think the ball was intended to go to Wilson in the middle of the floor. When he caught it he looked surprised and held it and gave up valuable time when it was finally kicked up to the wing he had a shot but tried to drive and time expired. Congrats to JC. Felt the coaching staff won the last play of the game there.

Early on Dence was not trying to get to the block and was playing more on the perimeter. When they started to try and post up Banks, Banks work him hard down there. Also they brought in Rae and he helped neutralize Dence. I still think Tony Martini is the unsung hero of this team. Just a work horse. Rebounds and blocks all night, only had 5 points last night but were big points in a run which helped them calm a small storm by Lex Cath. I also like the fact that Billy went to the post when they tried to double Trent and the big shot was a kick out by Martini to Ware for three. They had Catholic guessing all night. The defense on Tanner was big by the Cards as well. If one of these guys you mentioned can step up for the run then you could see the third state championship of the year come to Georgetown.

This Superintendent is the same one that hung Chad Tackett out to dry so he could bring in the McPeeks to get the ball rolling on their destruction of the program. He has really brought a bad name to the school and yet the elected officials continue to let him run their school system. The players are not to blame for this and yes the KHSAA had to hand down sanctions but they should not be penalized for the decisions of the adults in this situation. If it was me and I was a tax payer in this district then I would make sure not one board member was re-elected. I think this is a travesty to the educational system that this man continues to draw an enormous salary in the midst of his short comings and moral fiber. I hope that someone can right this wrong for the schools sake.

Not about watching it is about winning, He will be successful at PT running it just like many other programs across the state are at running it. Best of luck to Mike and PT

If the job was just posted, give people time to apply. This stuff does not happen over night. I know a guy that is from EKY that is very interested and would be better than anyone they are talking about that is on staff now. Give it a couple of weeks and see what transpires

If I was the coach and my wife told me about it I would go to my administration and ask them where they were in all of this and demand that for the safety of all the patrons that this parent be banned from coming to games. No excuse for a parent to treat the coach or his wife like that, no matter the circumstances. I find this to be way over the top. No room for it in high school athletics
