To bad Boone can't stay with their county mates. That would of been great.

I would really like to see Berea at least in the eastern district especially since one district only has 3 teams.

In 2A this is an interesting district: District 6 – Bath County, Holy Cross (Covington), Lloyd Memorial, Newport, Newport Central Catholic, West Carter. Bath County and West Carter in with the Northern Kentucky district? There will be some good driving times here.

2A was going to be brutal from a travel perspective no matter how you made the divisions. Tough class to redistrict.

I don't know the teams from Adam, but I'll tell ya, I'm not a big fan of West Carter's coaches comments in that article. "It'd be nearly financially impossible for us to sustain being in that district for 4 years because of the two long trips." It's a 2 hour drive on a Friday night... That shouldn't be that unbearable. Not ideal? Sure. But doable.

He's basically saying what Ashland and Johnson Central have been saying for years. We know we can't compete with the Northern Kentucky schools.

I agree. And I don't like that at all... Just come out and say it then instead of this bologna about 'not financially sustainable'...

I don't understand the rotating of the 6A, I mean you have a west and an east. Now that St. X and Trinity are not in the same district why keep rotating. Why not just play it like everyone else does. And to me if you have to have 3 team district then it is proof we have too many classes. That is a joke. Travel is part of sports, no one complains when basketball and baseball teams travel for all the holiday and spring break tournaments all of over the place. This to me needs to be fixed. You have 32 teams that should be 4 team districts and 8 districts.

Move 1 team form district 1 to district 2

move one team from district 3 to district 5

move 1 team from district 4 to district 6

I mean Jeffersontown use to be in a district with Grant Co, that is not much further than any of the teams in NKY. also in 5A you had South Oldham travel to Conner and Cooper and Scott , so it can be done.

I don't like to here the word financially sustainable, that is a joke. I remember in the 80's and 90's when some of those teams like Greenup and Boyd played in a district with Boone and Campbell and Holmes. That to me is just a cop out. Sure they like the fact they don't have to play highlands and cov. cath. but like someone else said just say that because travel has been a part of the game forever.

How important will the Boyle County/LexCath regular season game be you ask?

Potentially the loser could see a playoff path of:

Waggener

@ Central

@ Boyle/LexCath

@ Ft. Campbell

vs. Belfry

If you are LexCath that is a path of teams with a combined 32 Finals Appearances (21 Titles and 11 Runner-Ups) standing between you and a Title with only one game at home in Odd years.

I posted the West Carter/Bath County concern several times. No matter how the chips fell, their district was either going to be northern Kentucky or Pike County. That was obvious when the initial school list came out. West Carter had the option to play up, which would have put them in a district with Pendleton County, Lewis County, Fleming County, and Russell, which, in my opinion, would have been desirable. I have little sympathy for anyone complaining about travel hardships when it was obvious all along that their geography was going to be a challenge to work with.

The 3 team districts just make the KHSAA look so STUPID!

So your saying that LC should fold their tents and should not even show up? What if you replace Lex Cath and put in Boyle Co. as coming in second, would their patch be easier? What im saying is that each team in that district ( Not sure about FT Campbell ) has won multiple state championships, Including 2 for Lex Cath and several state semi- final appearance. So to me that is battle tested. Don't get me wrong, Im not offended, but just wanted to know why you would mention such a statement knowing all teams have won several championships.
